Hello friends,

Thanl you all for sharing about your balance and darkness issues. That

helped alot. Now, another question - one of the poll choices is

about living with uncertainty and I too live with uncertainty of CMT. So

what are some ways you deal with this issue or tips for

living with the uncertainty?

Thank you!

Britt:

Yes, uncertainty of my future is an issue, although a very small one

now. When I was in high school all I did was (secretly) worry how bad my

CMT 'would' get. Doctors made all kinds of predictions, etc.

Nothing I worried about has happened yet. I'm 50 now, so there's been

some 'time' in there. None of the docs predictions ever happened yet

either.

When I get up in the morning, I do the next indicated thing. I make a

list the night before to help remember my day's needs and goals then

check them off as I do them. For the past 20 plus years I have also

engaged in daily (ok almost daily) meditation, which has helped me focus

on 'the here and now'. Also, my artwork, my writing/work, my gardening

and my animals are good focus points so I really don't have time for

those 'uncertainty' thoughts to creep in. I'm also trying to re-learn

how to play chess and that is taking up quite a bit of time!

I keep trying to learn more about CMT, the different types, and how

everyone is affected because we are all unique. Guess what I am trying

to say is I plan for the future, but I quit projecting the outcome. It

was that projection of the outcome that caused me so much worry, fear,

anxiety and stress. So happy that's gone now!
