My doctor has suggested I take "red rice yeast" pills to lower my cholesterol. Believe it or not, loosing a lot of weight has not lowered my cholesterol so it is either drugs or an all natural product. I am on my second 43 days and have lost all but 4 lbs (intend to stop when my desired weight is reached). My question is, can I take this and not harm my weight loss?

Thank you.

Hi Rosemary~ I have no idea about this product but at first glance, i wouldn't take anything made with rice in P2 or P3.

but also.... did you have your cholesterol checked *WHILE* you were taking the HCG or even a few months afterwards?

The reason I ask is, one of the side effects of HCG protocol is increased cholesterol but it's temporary. Because it releases and floods your bloodstream with your stored fat deposits, it causes an elevated and fairly beneign, temporary rise in blood cholesterol levels that do go back down on it's own after protocol.

I hope your are right but I was battling borderline "bad" cholesterol before I went on HCG...good is very good...bad is almost 300. Docs have been threatening for a couple of years to put me on meds which I have fought. I thought loosing 100 lbs would surely do it but now I find it has not. Perhaps I will wait another month or so before checking blood again. It had been about 6 weeks of being off HCG when I had it tested....is that long enough for it to have gone down to whatever is normal for me?

Best regards,

Rosemary
