Greetings 'ers:

I too prefer the warm weather. My feet and hands even feel icey

cold in the middle of summer sometimes, so I find myself battling to keep

them warm all winter. I grew up in New England and miss it, but, in part to

the preferable climate, I now live in Southeast Virginia where the winters

are much more tame. I do like to ski and I sometimes miss the snow, but I

rarely mind heat. Too much heat can cause a sluggish fatigue, but I'd

take that any day over the pain and discomfort of the cold. And, as far as

I'm concerned, if I'm near water that I can jump into, I don't care how hot

it gets! By the way, I am 32 yrs old and I have CMT Type 2. At this point,

I'd describe my symptoms as only mildly disabling (can't wear heals or shoes

w/o backstraps, high arches, some hammer toes, a bit of forefoot drop when I

walk long distances).

I'd also like to welcome the new members! I know that somebody

asked about surgery and the response has been a bit slow. I think the slow

response might be because the group has been around so long now that we've

had very detailed discussions about surgeries in the past.

Newcomers do not need to miss out though; you can search through

the archives by typing in " surgery " and I'm sure a lot of good information

will come up. I think there are also probably some good articles on surgery

if you look in the links/bookmarks section at the main home page.

I hope everyone's having a great Mothers' Day!

Peace, :) Marti

I feel great on warm days, about 80* is perfect for me. I don't swell I can

stay warm I love it.

My legs have a slight chill factor even in the summer. I hate winter.
