Guest guest
Does anyone besides me have olfactory hallucinations? I will " smell " odors that don't exist. It is usually a strong odor (like exhaust, cat urine, burning, etc.) and it will usually last for days before going away. It will also repeat itself later on. This doesn't happen a lot but it has happened around 20 times a year.
Guest guest
Wow! This business of smelling odors which are not present has been bothering me also. It began last Jan. and usually involves the smell of cigarettes - sometimes even when I am in a non-smoking atmosphere, i.e. home work, exercise class, etc. So, yes, I guess it does happen to us. It is very difficult sometimes as I am allergic to cigarette smoke and it causes me to gasp a bit.

Guest guest
My sense of smell is very peculiar, I often don`t smell strong odours that are there and other times I smell ones that are not there. Its not unusual for me to `smell` burning candles when I`m outside and equally I often `smell` gas in the house (I have no gas connection). Joyce in Ireland.
