If they are government educational loans (Sallie Mae) and you are found disabled by Social Security, the loans can be 100% forgiven. You would only provide the service center for the loans proof of you disability status. As far as furthering your education, which is always worthwhile, the federal government as well as most states have programs for paying for educational expenses for the disabled. And they consist of not only loans but grants that don't have to be repaid. You can find information on the federal benefits at the Department of Education website and for state benefits, look at your states government website for the appropriate links. Good luck!
