Guest guest
Rob, My orthopedist told me if I had the toes straightened, it would most likely need to be redone in 10 years. This is because of the toe muscles. So when I started wearing orthotics in my shoes, my toes kind of straightened a bit, but also the orthotics help with balance; also because I am by nature a toe walker, this takes the pressure off my toes because this way my heel hits the ground first. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
I had toe straightening done on my right foot as well as a triple archidesis? (Sp) and something done to my big toe, all at one in the 80's. I noticed by 3 to 4 years after the surgery, my toes basically returned to " normal. " One toe in particular grows a callous under the nail that I have to have dealt with every couple of months. The arch surgery was successful, I still have a very high arch (you could drive a mac truck under it) but I don't seem to twist and sprain my ankle as often when not wearing my braces (I know ..bad girl but they hurt!)
