Guest guest
Hello to all, In my younger (teen days) I overused muscles frequently and required much sleep to recharge. Over the years I finally 'got it' and started using my brain muscle to tell myself to pace. It has taken some time to learn this. For exercise, I do some time on a very slow treadmill, 4X a week. It has seemed to strengthen me. Maybe it is all in my head. I am also 'designated' as the family dogwalker, so everyday, off I go with 'Brownie' for a tour of the neighborhood. During these light summer nights, I take my two oldest children with me. If I can get home in time in the fall and winter while it is light, then I still take the children. Seeing my neighborhood from a child's perspective is wonderful. I enjoy their observations of leaves, trees, flowers, houses, other people, etc. My real love is swimming, but right now the treadmill and the dog walks are all I can handle. Our third child came to us several weeks ago, and I get up an hour early in the morning, just to be with him and I also meditate at this time. So, , or 'Sweet Baby ' as we call him, joins me in the quiet hush of sunrise, before the noise of the day starts. I have been meditating in some form for a number of years and have found this helps keep my stress level down. For anyone who hasn't read Paolo's book, pages 51 and 52 talk about improvement of strength - not endurance, from an exercise program. And welcome to all the new members since my last post.
