Guest guest
Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and decided to join because I don't know where to go from here... I started the hCG diet (injections) on Feb. 7th and I am almost done with this round. I've lost 21 lbs and need to lose about 30 more. I want to do another round to lose that weight, but don't know how long I have to wait before starting my next round...I'm reading conflicting messages...is it 3 or 6 weeks? I found that I'm losing VERY slow - I think being on this diet for 46 days, I should have lost more than 21 lbs and I'm following the vlcd to the 't'! I'm terrified that I'm going to gain weight during phase 3, even if I follow the protocol. I was doing awesome with my stress level until I realized that I am almost done with this round. Is it normal to feel like this when going from phase 2 to phase 3? I've been doing this on my own since day 1 because I can't afford the clinics, so I've been doing a lot of research about this diet...now I'm trippin' cuz I don't know where to go from here. Anyone out there have any advice?? Thanks in advance!
Guest guest
, You have to do 3 weeks of P3 and 3 weeks of P4. You are then free to do another round. In P3 you can eat everything except for sugar and starch. The foods are to be added slowly so you can recognize which foods give you problems and stop eating them. In P4 you slowly add back sugar and starch. Again this is done slowly so you will be able to recognize the foods that your body doesn't like. On my first round I lost very slowly. This time around I lost much faster. Each round is different. On the first round I lost 23 pounds in 43 days of VLCD. This time I lost 18 pounds in 20 days. So as you can see no two rounds are alike. I would advice you to eat a diet heavy in fats (good fats). Coconut oil, olive oil, butter, heavy whipping cream, etc. I know this advice is contrary to what the USDA says, but as long as you are not eating carbs higher fats are OK. It isn't until you add the carbs back that the problems will start. It is because of this that I have decided to live a low carb lifestyle. I have been finding some really good ones to replace the carb rich diet I was eating previously. It just depends on what you want to get out of the protocol. I don't want to have to do correction days so I have all but eliminated the carb grimlin. LOL There is a movie on Netflix's instant viewing menu called "Fat Head." This movie talks about (not the beginning) how the food pyramid was born and how it was in contradiction to the way that we should actually eating. I hope this helps and hopefully someone else will chime in and give you more information.Nima From: munch01@...Date: Thu, 24 Mar 2011 17:34:04 +0000Subject: Almost done with 1st round...now what? Guest guest
, I forgot to mention that you want to continue to drink water so that you will not have water retention (water weight). You also want to make sure you eat enough calories because if you don't you could gain weight because your body will think you are trying to starve it and begin storing fat. Guest guest
Nima,I would agree with what you say about fats. I've tried various diets over the years and have found that eating a healthy, high-fat, low-carb diet can make you feel good and maintain or lose weight slowly. I think the whole low-fat craze started decades ago has done more harm to our culture than good since diabetes and other diseases have become more prominent because of the refined carbs people consume as they are cheap and readily available. It does feel contrary because we're bombarded with the media telling us that fat is bad, but it's not so.Just my two cents' worth.I just finished my first week on VLCD, and this is my second round of hcg. I'm down 11 pounds and feeling good! I have had some serious temptations but feel good that I've avoided them so far. I remember the first time through this, my first and last weeks were the hardest, so I'm hoping the next four won't be quite so bad. I'm trying new recipes this time, too, just to try new things and not get bored. It's easy to fall into the rut of eating the same things and I don't want to do that. I'm hoping to drop 40 pounds, but I'll be happy with whatever weight loss I get this time around. I lost 38 last time, but was very sick my last week and wasn't able to eat much for two weeks and managed to gain 8 pounds back when not eating. Very weird. Hopefully, that won't be an issue this time.Check out my blog: http://daskaren.blogspot.comTo: From: pompyn@...Date: Thu, 24 Mar 2011 15:07:00 -0400Subject: RE: Almost done with 1st round...now what? , You have to do 3 weeks of P3 and 3 weeks of P4. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the info (sorry it took so long to respond) - I have 1 more injection left, and excited that I've lost 25 lbs in this first round, even though I want to lose more. Now to get used to the next phase - whew...tough diet, but well worth it! Thanks again! > > > , > You have to do 3 weeks of P3 and 3 weeks of P4. You are then free to do another round.
