Guest guest
Sorry, this message didn't come through my regular email earlier today. Personally I wouldn't be taking iron supplements without testing CBC with differentials at the minimum. Infections and a few other things can come into play and supplementing iron could worsen the problem. If you're feeling stable I'd work on other things to support the adrenals. Make sure you're taking good quality B vitamins, magnesium (400-1000 mgs daily or above if tolerated), maybe get amino acids tested. Make sure you're using Celtic salt or another good brand, no processed salt. Work on supporting the liver and kidneys. Are you taking any OTC meds, like Excedrin, Tylenol, etc. or other items? Guest guest
I agree with Linn. Iron isn't something you want to take unless you know that you need it. Iron overload can be dangerous. Guest guest
Ok Linn, I certainly can ease off the iron. Geesh more tests.. this will have to wait as I'm nearly broke from so much other stuff. I've been on antibiotics for 8 months for Lyme disease. Not sure it's completely solved but I'm way better than before. So other infections are possible. However Abx (antibiotics) did help reduce pain significantly. But now I'm off them (my ALT spiked when they alternated meds)and I just stopped voltaren 100mg /day. So its down to tylenol when needed and Erfa... I think erfa has helped some because I had to stay on small doses of Abx (1000mg/day) just to stay mobile and now I'm hurting but I can get around. Diet is good, sugar free, yeast free, gluten free and 2 glasses of red wine a week (just for sanity of course Largely a protein diet for many years now. But I'm still 25 Lbs over weight and that should not be with the little bit I eat. My mother inlaw eats more than I do and doesn't exercise lol Supplementation are ok. 3 grams VitC, 600mg magnesium, 5000Iu Vit D, 1200mg B12, B-100 complex, Fish oil, probiotics, I need to get celtic salt... gotta find out where. I want to start the iodine but maybe I should wait and get settled in on this new regime first. 45 min exercise every alternate day and I ski once a week if I don't hurt too much. But I'm at my limit now, I can't walk more than a 1/2 Km without my hips and knees being too painful, but I've been like this for at least 8 years. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Gang, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm from Janie's site and I've been reading but not sure about > > > > > > dosing info. Guest guest
Good probiotics would definitely be needed to reestablish gut flora. Make sure you get the type that need to be refrigerated. Have you tried salt loading, I don't know a lot about Lyme disease, but there are folks here who do, hopefully they'll chime in. With the Voltaren and other pain killer use, IMO it would advisable to add in some liver support, milk thistle, Livatone Plus or something similar. Also if you're routinely taking Tylenol type products, I would definitely take NAC daily also to prevent damage from the painkillers. Diet wise, keep the proteins clean, grass fed if possible so the fatty acid is correct, lots of fresh veggies, some good fresh fruits, and make sure any fats are the proper types. No corn oils or canola, stick with real butter, coconut, olive, or macadamia nut oils. No margarine and if you use commercial mayonaise, stick with the type made from olive oil or better yet, make your own. Avocados are an excellent addition to the diet. Proper fats can make a huge difference in healing. To help with pain, eliminate any processed products. I would up the magnesium to 1000 mgs if you can tolerate it without stomach issues, it will help with the pain. Make sure not to use the oxide form though. Glucosamin with MSM would help also. I would highly recommend Dr. Brownstein's book " Overcoming Arthritis " . I think the iodine would definitely help. https://www.drbrownstein.com/bookstore_OvercomingA.php Also good info here by Dr. Jarvis: http://www.jcrows.com/arthritis.html http://www.jcrows.com/arthritistreatment.html Hope this helps, Linn > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Gang, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm from Janie's site and I've been reading but not sure about > > > > > > > dosing info. Guest guest
Much appreciated Linn, Is there a particular magnesium would you suggest. Also, if my sodium is already at the top of the range should I still be taking celtic sea salt? and if so, do you have a recommended source. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Gang, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm from Janie's site and I've been reading but not sure about > > > > > > > > dosing info. Guest guest
Any form is okay except oxide. I'm pretty partial to magnesium glycinate. You might try several different types and see which one works best for you. Yes, continue with the recommended daily dose of Celtic Sea Salt per the iodine protocol. Celtic Sea Salt, Pink Himalayan, Redmonds are all brands folks here cite as sources. Here's more info: http://curezone.com/foods/saltcure.asp Linn > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Gang, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm from Janie's site and I've been reading but not sure about > > > > > > > > > dosing info. Guest guest
Post your results Helen, together with the reference range for each test done as test results are no good without them. I have attached a document that you may wish to read which gives you some reasons why your thyroxine might not be working for you. Read these through and anything you don't understand, just shout, and somebody will be along to try to give you some answers. You will probably only find the reason by going through all of these by way of a process of elimination until you find the cause. You will also see attached a list of the minerals and vitamins your GP should be testing and links alongside that you can show him if he tries to tell you there is no connection between these particular mins/vits. and hypothyroidism. I would tell your GP also that serum thyroid function tests only show the level of TSH being secreted by the pituitary gland and the amount of T4/T3 being secreted by the thyroid gland. This is known as 'Type 1' hypothyroidism. The other type of hypothyroidism is called 'Type 2' and is defined as peripheral resistance to thyroid hormones at the cellular level. This type of hypothyroidism is not due to a lack of hormone secretions by the glands. Type 2 hypothyroidism is usually inherited, although environmental toxins may also cause or exacerbate the problem. The pervasiveness of Type 2 hypothyroidism has yet to be recognised by mainstream medicine, but already is in epidemic proportions. Type 2 hypothyroidism is treated using some form of the active thyroid hormone T3, either synthetic or natural. If ONLY doctors would take a little time out to do some basic research they would not be causing the harm to those patients who have symptoms of hypothyroidism but who are unable to convert the thyroxine to T3. Luv - Sheila I have had an underactive thyroid for around 8 years and take 200mcg of thyroxine daily. My blood results are said to be normal but I've not regained any energy and struggle with exhaustion and depression. I'm taking Prozac but I'd rather not - it seems the only way of avoiding a melt down. I've forgotten what it is like to have energy. :-( Would someone take a look if I paste the results on here, please? 2 of 2 File(s) MINERALS AND VIT. I will look up my results now, but meanwhile, an iron deficiency looks VERY likely after reading those links! I've always been told my results are a little too high, but I've felt awful when they've been reduced, so my GP has always said he is happy to leave them a little high and go by what I say. Trouble is, he will only accept quite major symptoms and puts general tiredness etc down to my age - I'm 40 so hardly at the tail end of life!!! Guest guest
Hello Helen. Your low haematocrit means that you are anaemic Helen. Some common causes for this could be loss of blood through traumatic injury, surgery, bleeding, nutritional deficiency. They appear not to have tested your levels of ferritin, vitamin B12 or folate - they need to do these. I see also that ONLY your TSH was tested and they did not test your free Thyroxine (fT4) and free triiodothyronine (fT3). These need to be done. Have you been tested to see whether you have any thyroid antibodies. Ask for the tests for TPO and TgAb to be done. Guest guest
Thanks, Sheila. That's what I thought after reading the links on here last night so I'm glad you agree. They tested for antibodies years ago and the results said I have them...? The GP told me at the time that means my body is attacking my thyroid, or words to that effect, and it's not due to any underlying health condition. I've been taking Berocca for a week or so anyway, and I've got some Spatone at home, so I've started using that today. For now, I need to stick with those as I can't afford to buy lots of new stuff, or throw away what I have. I'm thinking it would be a good idea to take more magnesium though? And I'm looking at iodine, but don't want to do too much at once!! I'm shattered at the moment, and feel very tearful and irritable, but that's usual at the end of a period. I'm guessing that would confirm the anaemia? Sorry for all the questions. I'm struggling to take all this in so please tell me if you think I'm barking up the wrong tree. :-) Oh and I will ask my GP for those blood tests. I'm not sure how he will respond but it's worth a try! Thanks again Helen Ps shall I start a new post rather than stay in the newbie thread? > > Hello Helen. > > Your low haematocrit means that you are anaemic Helen. Guest guest
Hi Helen, I see that a TPOab test has not been done, usually done when TSH is over the reference range! but as TSH can be anywhere in that range to have symptoms of hypothyroidism which doctor`s are not a where of , if it were me i would ask for this to be done. the TPOab test is to detect auto-antibodieswhich can be present in hashimoto`s(autoimmune thyroiditis). this is mostly the cause of the thyroid being distroyed. angel. Guest guest
Crusher, 's solution is an antibiotic rinse. It is helpful for clearing up irritations but I don't know about long term use. The budesonide rinse is an off label use of a nebulized lung steroid (brand name is Pulmicort). Generally people add an ampule of the pulmicort to their saline solutions 1-2 times a day for a sinus rinse. Some put drops of budesonide direclty in the nose in a head hanging position so that the steroid is more directly delivered to the olfactory area. Others use an steroid spray in the nose like Flonase, but for me that caused headaches and drying and never helped my SOS. The rinse has really been helpful. It was recommended to me by National Jewish Hospital in Denver, where they were quite knowledgeable about Samter's and also did my aspirin desense. I think you may find that the challenge is not quite as frightening now, mine wasn't bad. Jennie > > > > > > Hello everyone. Guest guest
Crusher,'s solution (or rather, the modified 's solution that was prescribed by your ENT, because I think standard 's is just gentamycine and saline) is fine for a limited time period, such as the time it will take for your mucosa to heal from the latest surgery. You are not supposed to keep irrigating indefinitely (like, months on end) with it because : - gentamycine will eventually select gentamycin-resistant germs,- the corticoid will worsen the thinning of your skull bones,- 10% baby shampoo is a high concentration of shampoo (1% is the norm) and is likely to irritate (burn) after some time. You may still have some bone separation between the olfactory area and your brain, but it may just be hidden between two CT scan "slices" because it is thin.> > >> > > > > > Hello everyone. In 1-0 days time, add another tablet with your lunch. If you need to take more, add another tablet with breakfast in another 10 days. You can keep increasing in this way until you are up to 6 tablets daily, but if 6 is not enough, this is an indication you should be on hydrocortisone. Most people get by on 2 or 3. Don't take any after 1.00p.m. otherwise, they might keep you awake at night. Luv - Sheila Just wondering whether there is anything I am missing as I don't want to have to delay any treatment the new doc might want to start because of any adrenal issues. I also have severe apnea ( treated partly successfully with CPAP), and gluten intolerance ( for which I am now essentially eating gluten free with good results as far as the gastric upsets are concerned). Can someone tell me about the andrenal support tablets that are frequently discussed on here that have adrenal and other tissue added? ,_._,___

I was taking Sandostatin shots monthly to control the tumor growth but I was not getting any results from it. All it did do was destroy my thyroid function. I am not sure how I can approach this with Iodine. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!Jeff
Guest guest
iodine is always good but look at low dose naltrexone.they have a group for cancer and they might be able to help. alpha lipoic acid plus b-complex is a good addition http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/ldn_and_cancer.htm On Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 7:36 PM, jdd24rulz <jdd24rulz@...> wrote: Â Hello,I am new to this group. Guest guest
Jeff, I belong to another group on LDN. Have you ever heard of it? Low Dose Naltrexone. I know it is also used for cancer. If you goggle LDN you will get tons of info. Hope this helps. Please let me know your thoughts after researching. I also take it for many illnesses I have. Basically just started so I really cannot give you an updaate. From: jdd24rulz <jdd24rulz@...>Subject: Newbieiodine Date: Tuesday, June 21, 2011, 1:36 PM Hello,I am new to this group. Guest guest
NatxI would wait the amalgams until after baby is completely weaned. You may consider ALA or other things to help your body rid itself of mercury and further research on that is suggested. Cilantro, ALA, bentonite and many others are typically mentioned. Each may be timed or dosed depending on your situation. Liver cleanse may also be appropriate. Salt is important anyways and will taste better than dead salt. 12.5 mg appropriate for your current situation from what I have read here .  Nuts aren't a consistent amount as hard to say how accurate the estimates are. Likely should consider doing selenium at 200 mcg.  On the skin magnesium is more easily absorbed due to potential diahrrea effects orally. 400 mg typical need. I seem to need about double that to budge my blood levels of magnesium up any. I am currently still breastfeeding but only 1-2 x a day as he is a weaning toddler, so concerened on amounts due to him. Just checking if my protocol is correct I havent started the salt yet a I never knew I should, so will start that today 2 drops lugols (have just bought some kelp too, so will have some of that) I eat 4-5 brazil nuts, amongst many other nuts a day, so havent taken selenium, as I am worried about overdosing and would get the amount from my food? Magsorb magnesium oil on skin 4 squirts daily. ( I have been told by their customer services that it is approx 110mg in about 4 sprays so will up that today, although more is absorbed apparantly this way than suppliments) Vit C x 2000 mg I also take Ultimate greens now and again, black seed oil when I remember and salmon oil and sit daily in the sun for natural D3, here in Brisbane. I also eat plenty of greens and nuts and sesame/chia/linseeds Will be having my 2x root canals pulled in the next 2 weeks and early next year removing amalgams, as finances allow. any other advice and hi to everyone Natx
Guest guest
Hi Thanks Yep I am waiting the amalgams until early next year, hopefully he is weaned byb then I have already waited it out 18mths since I decided to remove them.. I will look into the liver cleanse as I have a book on it. I try to eat plenty of corriander (cilantro) in my food. I am worried about taing to many things such as chlorella etc.. incase it dumps excess in my breast milk of metals. I have increased to 16 squirts at the moment of magensium so around 440 through the skin, it says on the bottle that you can use up to 30ml for the skin and as 1 ml is 110 mg thats an awful lot? Selenium wise I think I am going to stick too brazil nuts. From all the studies I have read they are far superior than selenium suppliments and less likely too overdose. They are also more readily absorbed and have been shown in studies, I have read, too show more selenium in the blood, in comparrison to the equivilant selenium suppliments. In addition theere was also more antioxidants in the blood who consumed the nuts. So I may stick with te nuts for now, I take far too many suppliments and am trying to keep it as natural as possible. thanks so much xx > > > ** > > > > > > Hi > > I am a newbie to idoine and started a few weeks ago due to breast issues. > > > > I am currently still breastfeeding but only 1-2 x a day as he is a weaning > > toddler, so concerened on amounts due to him. > > > > Just checking if my protocol is correct > > > > I havent started the salt yet a I never knew I should, so will start that > > today > > > > 2 drops lugols (have just bought some kelp too, so will have some of that) > > > > I eat 4-5 brazil nuts, amongst many other nuts a day, so havent taken > > selenium, as I am worried about overdosing and would get the amount from my > > food? > > > > Magsorb magnesium oil on skin 4 squirts daily. > > ( I have been told by their customer services that it is approx 110mg in > > about 4 sprays so will up that today, although more is absorbed apparantly > > this way than suppliments) > > > > Vit C x 2000 mg > > > > I also take Ultimate greens now and again, black seed oil when I remember > > and salmon oil and sit daily in the sun for natural D3, here in Brisbane. > > > > I also eat plenty of greens and nuts and sesame/chia/linseeds > > > > Will be having my 2x root canals pulled in the next 2 weeks and early next > > year removing amalgams, as finances allow. > > > > any other advice and hi to everyone > > > > Natx > > > > > > >
Guest guest
You know how it is with what you read, but according to what I have read, you have it backwards. Some authorities say that you should never take cilantro without chlorella, because cilantro is what stirs up the mercury & chlorella is what escorts it out of the body.AnneOn Aug 10, 2011, at 3:30 PM, natalie wrote: Hi Thanks Yep I am waiting the amalgams until early next year, hopefully he is weaned byb then I have already waited it out 18mths since I decided to remove them..
