swelling can look like lupus

Today I went to my doctor for a rash on my face and some swelling. 4 vials

of blood and a shot later he thinks I might have Lupus.

I had swollen ankels as usually . I think that is what convinced him to do

blood work.

I think everyone with CMT is swollen ankels/feet to a degree. Am I wrong?

Also everyone with CMT gets tired easily right?

I do get strange infections and run fevers a lot . That would all seem like

lupus but I never would have gone to the doctor for ankle swelling! Thats

just normal to me.

By the way it was my nose that was swelling. I just couldn't stand to look at

myself. I think I am vain. Thats why I went to the doctor. I didn't want the

Lupus just an antibotic for my face.

My sister and I both have CMT. She has a lot of swelling. I do not. She has

been hospitalized several times for different infections. She was told by one

doctor that he thought she has lupus. She later was diagnosed with CMT, so I

too would think about getting testing for the lupus before you agree that

that's what you have.

The test to check me was a blood test. I really don't think I have Lupus. I

think the aches and pains of CMT mimic lupus. Another thought and question I

have is do the CMTers that have had ankle fusion swell more?

,

While I don't get swollen ankles, my feet can and do swell on hot summer

days - especially if I don't change shoes much. However, I do get tired!

I cram as much as I can into my days, but by evening, I'm tired. I used

to get strange infections but once I had my tonsils taken out, that took

care of it, except for my coral scrape on vacation last year.

I have recently been fighting a hand and throat rash - since I know I

have allergies, and skin allergies, there is something flying in the air

here.

Is there an easy test for Lupus?

I totally agree. I have a really great doctor he runs lots of tests just to

make sure and rule things out.

Good doctors are so hard to find. I really hope this one stays around

forever.
