I have no idea how much 25 kg is, but I know that Morton sells bags of Solar

Salts in our grocery stores here in VA. That is how they are bagged --

" Morton Solar Salt " (just like the table salt brand). either 20 or 40 pounds

(I can't remember!). If people in the grocery look at you weird when you ask

for them, tell them they are the salts that go in the water softner tanks.

Hope this helps

Hi ,

I order from www.aquariusaroma-soap.com . They have really good stuff, and

their prices are in Canadian dollars [they ship from Washington state], so

when you work it out, the prices are very good.

hi !

Welcome to soapland :) There are many, many suppliers on the internet.. and

from the research I've done around my hometown (Burlington, Vermont).. I've

found the internet prices to be extremely less expensive. This list runs

co-ops from time to time, and I've gotten some awesome things that way, too.

For very small quantities of herbs, etc, for a particular recipe, that I'm

just testing, or don't plan to make very often, I will visit my local herb

shop or natural food store, where I can buy just an ounce, or even a

teaspoon. The place you want to check first for a very long list of internet

suppliers is in the library, the address is at the bottom of every email, but

here it is again: http://www.luxurylane.com/thelibrary/index.htm, it's

definitely worth checking out. Click on the " supplies " icon on the bottom,

and you're set to go! We all have our favorite suppliers, based on past

experiences, and I'm sure each list bud's favorites would be just a bit

different, based on what they order more often. I have several that I order

from, some based on price, some on quality.

Good luck!

I have ordered from several times. She is always prompt and her

products are great. If you look on her ordering and shipping page the phone

number is there.

This is what it says on that page:

For telephone orders please call (978) 375-8023 weekdays between the hours of

10am-4pm EST.

Greetings!

>Have any of you ordered supplies from Stuff Likes?

I have never placed an order with this company but I have not heard

anything negative

about them

I was

You make a very good point. I'm sure they are fine but those who are just

starting out with your website

and business,, it is an absolute must that you have a phone number &

address posted.

Many credit card companies will not give a merchant account without that

infomation available to the

customer.

and anyway ,, you want to set your customer at ease and give them the

confidence to know that they

can get ahold of you when they want to.

Hello everyone,

I am just really getting into this soaping thing and looking for places in NY for oils like veggie oil, coconut, palm kernel, sweet almond oil and etc.

I really don't want to buy these heavy items from clear across the country because of shipping.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

hi Kate..

I buy my 5o lb batches of coconut from syracuse popcorn supply on Beldon St., get my palm from mike out at colubus Oils(best buy I have found for that size even with shipping), I use a lot of Now brand almond oil and caster which you can usually find at the health food stores and the best place thus far for me for olive is to look at all grocery stores for the best sales. I usually don't pay over $8 for my tins of olive.

You might try checking your restaurant supply places. They often sell

janitorial supplies -- that's where I get mine. One of our local stores is

called Smart and Final, and they carry the good old Red Devil Lye.

Barbara,

I live in middle TN and I had to get my lye from a supplier. The stores

around here quit selling it.

Often times, if you request it the grocery store will order it. My local

hardware store has offered to order it for me. That will help with the hazmat

fee and shipping. Especially if you will buy the whole case. (My store gets it

in 12 count cases and I can do that.)

Barbara.....

Try looking at/for chemical companies or cleaning supply companies in

your yellow pages, .

Pool companies may have it too.

A friend of mine works at Dairyland (here in British Columbia Canada)

and they clean their floors daily with Lye (caustic soda)...maybe

phone a dairy and see if they have any as well.

Bev,

Check soapcrafters. They deal with a lot of Canadian orders. I think they

have info on their site. If not, I am sure if you email Pam she would have

the info for you. Thats an awful lot of money to pay just to cross the

border.

I get 99% of my supplies on the internet. But I do get my melt and pour base

from 's crafts. I have found it impossible to get the butters and

waxes and preservatives locally. But I do get my oils at Safeway they sell a

different variety of oils such as Walnut, Almond, Hazelnut etc.I get my

Olive oil at Costco. I also get my essential oils and fragrance oils on the

internet.

By shopping the internet, I haven't gotten burned yet.

and in my opinion that is probally the best place to get your supplies,

unless you live in a big city where you can buy anything that you want or

need.
