Guest guest
Heh! No matter what I do as a vegan, it won't be strictly protocol because none was developed for vegans. I was given a ratio to use by someone who spoke to her doctor as far as calorie/fat/carb/sugar counts all go as far as what works. IIRC, it was between 90-110 calories, less than 3 grams of fat, less than 8 grams carbs, and less than 3 grams of sugar. I'll have to dig it up somewhere... I've been using Sun Warrior and Garden of life protein, also going to try Vega's protein because I LOVE LOVE Vega, and nothing developed by a pro-athlete vegan can be all that bad.... The smoothies are kicking my ass. I usually make them with unsweetened almond milk (all of 40 calories!) and a banana, which takes care of that grainy texture. I need to get more creative with them or I'm going to be eating the Gardein chik'n scallopinis more often, as they meet the ratio. When I do however, I forego the breadstick/melba toast. Thanks for the tips! I am desperate, and eager to succeed. I know it is off Protocol, It has 1 gram of Carb, 0 sugar, 28 grams of Protein. I am using it, also Bobs Red Mill TVP, 1/4 cup rehydrated, with seasonings, put a Tbsp.inside a romaine lettuce leaf and you have wraps. You can add tomatoes to the TVP & have chili. Or you could make cabbage rolls with it. Since I do not eat meat I have had to look for other forms of protein. ------------------------------------
