Guest guest
, Your curves 33/23 at 33 years of age make me skeptical of encouraging you to undergo surgery. I am NOT discounting your pain but I wonder if other things might be involved. It seems to me if the degrees are accurate (from a scoliosis specialist, not an ortho dr) you would not statistically be in line for further progression of the curve thereby making surgery an extremely unnecessary risk. Surgery as an adult is regarded as a last resort by most reputable scoliosis surgeons ranking it the worse surgery one can undergo (yes, worse than open-heart). Please don't take this as criticism of you personally, but something doesn't add up to indicate such drastic matters as spinal a/p fusion. Have you gotten a second and third opinion from experts in the field? If not, I'd strongly advise you to pursue it. Jolene **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
, What treatments have you undergone previously for your scoliosis? You probably posted these already, but refresh my memory please. Have the curves progressed from what they were when you were younger or were they just recently diagnosed? Some curves remain stable (or relatively stable with a change in degree or two over the years) & don't require any further treatment. Also, what treatments & diagnostics have you recently undergone? MRI, xray, etc. ~Moonbeam ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
