Guest guest
Be sure to have your daughter tested for Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. It causes scoliosis and scoliosis is sometimes the first symptom to show up. It happened to me. I'm 58, just diagnosed with CMT. Fyfer jtucker969 <jtucker969@...> wrote: I am new here. My daughter has scoliosis on the lower part of her spine. It really hasn't bothered her in the past but for the past year it has been causing a lot of discomfort for her. Her pediatrician told us not to worry too much about it. She just turned 19 years old 3 days ago. Two questions I have is: can scoliosis of the lumbar cause pain that is similar to having gynecological problems? Can scoliosis actually cause pain in the ovary area from pushing on them? My daughter has extreme pain and we thought it was due to having cysts on her ovaries. So far, all the extensive tests performed has proved that there is actually nothing out of the ordinary. Thank you for all your help and I do apologize for my ignorance in this matter. As I said, this is so new to me and I don't know where to begin. Guest guest
I am not a doc but....I have a low curvature too. It is good that you are checking the ovaries and not just assuming that it is the Scoliosis. I have a lot of pain because the pain radiates to the uterus and the female organs. If I am premenstrual or menstrual it all hurts, the back and the female organs. My daughter has the same thing too and she hurts too during the cycle. Get a second opinion when in doubt is my motto. > > I am new here.
