Hot AFOs - for Terry Little

Why not wear shorts? I'm not crazy about how my AFOs

look either, but I do know they draw less attention to

my legs than if I didn't wear them. When I don't wear

them, I have to use a cane and I wobble all over the

place. I feel less confident, and I swear people are

looking at me. I 've had my AFOs for one full week as

of today. It's been 90 degrees every day since I've had

them, and I've been wearing shorts. They're still hot,

but much much worse if I'm wearing pants. I also have

the plastic, non hinged type of AFOs. I'd also try to

take them off once or twice during the day if you can,

to let your feet/legs breathe a little bit. It works for

me. Stay cool!
