Guest guest
I am new and trying to make the right choices. Iam 58yrs. and had HarringtonRods+ Fusionin 1965 at 15yrs,2002 I had a lamminectomy L3-4,L4-5+ the next vertebra. And now(O-BOY) my cervical spine is totally degenerated(don't know the proper terms)3-7,three masses, three areas pressing on mine spineal cord(PAIN),just below the top of my rods I have a curve to the left and then to the front, the top curve is back40*, the rods stop above my waist with something going on there, and my lumbar spine is degenerated plus L3-5and the next vertebra are stagered on top of each other. Up here in Alaska the medical field do not know much about scoliosis(You just have to live with it). I said no I don't. So I have been trying to learn what I can so I will make the best choice of WHO and HOW my back will be taken care of. That is why I joined this forum plus I hope I can help other people who may have to go through what I have. Thanks for all your help. Guest guest
Alma, I am sorry you are suffering. Totally agree with not simply accepting the " you just have to live with it " attitude before you explore all your options. Though I know nothing about him, there is a doctor in Alaska who is listed on the Scoliosis Research Society website: http://www.srs.org/ M. Eule, MD Orthopaedic Physicians Anchorage (907) 562-2277 3801 Lake Otis Parkway Suite #300 Anchorage AK 99508-5234 http://www.opanchorage.com Adolescent, Adult Scoliosis, Aging Spine, Degenerative Conditions, Juvenile/Infantile Hope you can find someone who can help you.
