Guest guest
Dear : Gosh what an experience. I have to see my Cardiologist for a download of my IPCD on the 10th. They suspect my sternum has broken and the wire is poking me. Means another open heart if they are right. So far I have endured broken wires etc with these implants. I suffer V-tach events frequently and now am getting A-fibs. Real fun stuff. I can't imagine what you are going through. I will pray though for your continued sucess! Think about It !!! And Thanks for being patient with me The Doctor {{{ Healthy Hugs }}} Helen HelloI just had my second echocardiogram done and good news, my EF is up to45%, it was 24% back in April. That's quite an improvement and peoplewith EF's in their 40's are known to have almost normal lives. I'monly on the second increment of Coreg and they want me to go to thethird increment, after that I think there's three more to go so there'sa good chance the EF can be improved a lot more.Going up on the Coreg will mean that the next couple of weeks will betough, basically I'll be real confused and stuff till I adjust to thenew level but it's nice to have 45% of the blood going in the rightdirection for a change. Guest guest
Glad to hear someone has good news....How are you feeling now? Take care! Love, Barb Good news for a change Hello I just had my second echocardiogram done and good news, my EF is up to 45%, it was 24% back in April. That's quite an improvement and people with EF's in their 40's are known to have almost normal lives. I'm only on the second increment of Coreg and they want me to go to the third increment, after that I think there's three more to go so there's a good chance the EF can be improved a lot more. Going up on the Coreg will mean that the next couple of weeks will be tough, basically I'll be real confused and stuff till I adjust to the new level but it's nice to have 45% of the blood going in the right direction for a change. The trip to the Doctor was an adventure in itself, my PDA had the appointment down for 9 am and my Lotus Notes had it down for 8 am (so much for computerized synchronization). I showed up at 8:15 only to find that the clinic didn't open till 9 am, the nurses were filtering in and at 8:30 told me that my Doctor had called in saying he would be late so I should come back in an hour. Fortunately I live around the block and have a cable modem so I went home, had breakfast and did some work remotely, when I went back to the clinic, the waiting room was full to the point of standing room only. Turns out all the Doctors were at least an hour late (probably due to the raining and flooding conditions) so there was still no Doctor. They whisked me past everyone else since I had been there at 8:15 and into an examination room but not the one with the needed equipment. I wound up waiting there in the examination room for another hour and a half before my Doctor arrived, he was in surgery and it turned out a bit more difficult than anticipated. Since the room didn't have the equipment, he put me in the staff kitchen till the room became available, I spent an hour there trying to speed read an article on CHF survivability in one of the books in the kitchen (got half way through the article) till the room became available. This makes for the longest Doctor's appointment I've ever had but the news is good so I don't mind. Guest guest
How is this good news if ultimately the child will be forced to take the vaccine against the child and/or parents' wishes? While I understand that the part regarding having to prove association with an organized religion was declared unconstitutional, the total effect of the decision seems like bad news to me. Good News for a Change " Arkansas Immunization Law Partly Unconstitutional " Associated Press (www.ap.org) (07/26/02) U.S. District Judge Dawson ruled Thursday that Arkansas' law on immunizing children, which requires families to prove their association with an organized religion in order to receive exemption from the shots, is partly unconstitutional, but children must still be immunized in order to attend school. The lawsuit was filed by the parents of 11-year-old le McCarthy, who was expelled from school in October for a missing hepatitis B immunization; the parents had claimed a religious exemption, saying they were not affiliated with an established church but read the Bible. Dawson asserts that although part of the state law is unconstitutional, individual rights are subordinated in this case to protect the rest of society from disease. Dawson last year granted a temporary injunction in the case, allowing McCarthy to return to school without a vaccination until the suit was settled; however, last week's decision overturns the injunction. Guest guest
Hi , the good news part I thought was, it was declared partly unconstitutional. The fact that it's being challanged in court is also good, it brings it out into the public. Arkansas, I believe is a bible belt state, so any dent is a good one. Hopefully it will make parents question their rights! > How is this good news if ultimately the child will be forced to take the vaccine against the child and/or parents' wishes? Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have posted here a number of times having had several scoliosis surgeries myself. Last year about this time I was really upset when my daughter at 13 was diagnosed with scoliosis. She had a curve in October of 12 degrees thoracic and and 12 lumbar. By January the thoracic curve reached 23 degrees and her lumbar was at 21 degrees. I took her to my great doctor, Dr. Boachie, who decided to put her in the Spinecore brace. Because of my history he felt it was necessary to do this right away. I felt like a knife went through my heart. I could take anything when it came to myself, but my kids are another thing. Yesterday was her third check up and she is down to a 10 degrees thoracic curve with no lumbar curve at all and she has grown nearly 2 inches since she got the brace. I know there are no guarantees and I am hopefully optimistic that she will never need any operation. I just wanted to thank all of you that had responded to me when I first found out about her. It is still a wait and see kind of thing and I am a nervous wreck everytime she goes there, but so far so good. Her and I both go back for check ups in 3 months. I go every year. Again I just wanted to say thank you to all of you and wish you all a wonderful holiday season. Kathy
Guest guest
Glad to hear your daughter is doing well, at this point. I know that you feel bad about her having to go through this, but at least she has a mother who knows what it is like and this will likely give her a stronger, more mature, character. I believe this will show even more as she moves away from home and grow into adulthood. Just look at her peers, that don't really have any problems and how immature and selfish some of them are, though not all are that way. Guest guest
hi every1.I finally had a bit of good news today. My condition has finally been accepted my the government.I put in a claim for disability living allowance, now,10 weeks later, they accepted it and gave me 10 weeks backpay of £600.just in time for xmas! I decided to go shopping to try and find a nice outfit for xmas as Im spending it with my partner and my father this year, but nothing seemed to fit!my tablets and lack of movement has made me put on weight and nothing looked nice which was a bit dissapointing, I ended up buying pjs to wear when I go in for my spinal lump removal. It nearly killed me going shopping, I thought I was going to pass out as the pain got so bad, Im just so glad I was able to do my xmas shopping online so no heavy bags. Its been great to be able to spoil my partner as he has been such an angel, I think he was sent to me for help by someone looking down on me, without him, I wouldnt have been able to get through these hard times. Im still very scared of this surgery, but I guess this lump has to go before it puts me in a wheelchair! Ive managed to treat myself to some bits n pieces to make my xmas more comfortable, and the great thing is, as Im going to my dads, I dont have to do any cooking!! If I dont speak to you all again for a while, I wish you all a comfortable happy christmas and a painless, prosperous new year.
