I know of many CMTers who have had their Achilles tendons lengthened for that reason - tight. Some people try various exercises to stretch them, but I think most end up with surgery to do the job. I can't flex my feet more than 90 degrees either, and an othopedic surgeon offered to lengthen my Achilles tendons, but at my age, since I can still walk and drive I don't want to risk the surgery (not that it's dangerous). I don't want to give up walking and driving even for a few weeks (or months) at this point. For a younger person it may be well worth it. Just a thought.
