Guest guest
Sara, Beware of GPs and scoliosis. No GP that I've ever had knew much about the ramifications of this condition. If you dont feel comfortable about what he tells you, see a specialist. I always remember what my scoliosis surgeon advised me years ago: Always remember that you know more about scoliosis than any other doctor (unless he is an orthopaedist of course). Lida in London Anyone experience this I wrote a couple of weeks back about pain in my hip running down my leg. Well it is developed into something far more. My shoulders arms, wrists, thighs, knees, legs all hurt. It is hard to carry things - painful to step up even one stair. When I sit and get up - I limp. Am I losing my mind? Does this have anything to do with scoliosis -anyone else experience this? I think it is propably totally unrelated. I am seeing my GP on Friday. Guest guest
Dear Sara, I'm glad you're seeing your GP soon! I don't know what is causing all that. I'm sorry about all your pain, though. I sincerely hope you get relief soon. lj From: Sara Dolan <mollymol6@...> Subject: Anyone experience this Scoliosis Treatment Date: Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 10:00 PM I wrote a couple of weeks back about pain in my hip running down my leg. Guest guest
Sara, I don't know where you live? If the weather has changed (cold) recently, maybe that is making a difference? I live in Washington (State). We have had unusually low temperatures lately and it is snowing right now. Although it is very pretty to look at, my back and hips and shoulders have been aching much more than usual and I think it might have something to do with the cold weather. Does anyone else have increased pain when the temperature goes down? I hope you find some relief from your pain. I tend to agree with Lida about GP's and scoliosis. You might need to see a scoliosis specialist or at least an orthopedic doctor to get answers. A GP should be able to prescribe medication that might help. Happy Holidays! Guest guest
I think the two of you are right about GP and scoliosis. If it is scoliosis related I will see a specialist. Actually I was going to see a specialist after the holidays. Right now I just need some relief - I can barely move and stairs are impossible. Guest guest
Hey Sara, I was going through the site trying to find out if anyone was in a lot of pain tonight. I've been in more pain than the daily pain for awhile now. I also have the shooting pains down the leg and it's just about to do me in and it is even making my toes tingle. I know I'm probably up for another surgery but there is no insurance or money for it. I'm on a waiting list for my premeiums to be paid free of charge. That should happen some time next year. All I can say Sara is that if you can, get an xray of it. Like I said all this pain is wearing me out and affecting me mentally. Having bipolar, this pain and taking a chemo. medication for a blood disorder is so hard but I know as always God will bring me through. Love ya Sara, Dereise..... > > I wrote a couple of weeks back about pain in my hip running down my leg. Well it is developed into something far more. Guest guest
i think that it may have something to do with it... i was just diagnosed a little over a year ago... but the way that i look back... i have had migraines for the last 10 plus years.... and the dr that diagnosed me told me that i have had it for 10-15... it explains alot... but i have always had some sort of body pain since hitting my 20s and im now 32.... Guest guest
I totally agree with all the answers here but last time I had this much pain in the same areas it was from a nerve that had pinched itself off in the hardware. I'm hopeing that the pain is all the things you have said because I'm having to take Loratab twice a day now and who knows what kind of shape my liver is in. I go the first of the year to have blood drawn for the blood disorder so that test will be done as well. I treasure everyone here and I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and hopefully an extremely Happy New Year. > > From: MELODY KING,DAVID LANE <melodylane2195@ msn.com> > Subject: Re: Anyone experience this > Scoliosis Treatment > Date: Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 12:44 PM > > Sara, > > I don't know where you live? Guest guest
I don't know if the weather change and increased pain comes from the scoliosis or all the hardware most of us have inside our bodies. All I know is that when it gets really cold, I ache all over. Melody Anyone experience this I wrote a couple of weeks back about pain in my hip running down my leg. Guest guest
Hi there, I am new to this group and this is my first post. This past week has been my first experience with severe hip pain. I have had sciatica but this pain is more like bone pain in my hip. I believe it may be the joint cartilage wearing down because the scoliosis has skewed the way I walk and made the left side of my body bear more of my weight. It also feels like my left leg may collapse at any time. Has anyone else had hip pain like this? Thanks, Glenda > > From: MELODY KING,DAVID LANE <melodylane2195@ msn.com> > Subject: Re: Anyone experience this > Scoliosis Treatment > Date: Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 12:44 PM > > Sara, > > I don't know where you live?
