Guest guest
My sister is 19 and has decided surgery is the only answer at this point. She is a college student in Boston. I'm in Texas. My mom is in San Diego. We are all researching doctors and types of scoliosis surgery. I need to go back and read old posts. Some questions -- Here is her pain med. list. Daily -- Lidocaine patches to treat and dull pain externally 20 mg/ Cyclobenzaprine [flexiril] to treat extreme pain 800 mg/ IB Profin to treat the aches and pains I recently saw her. She is on much more medication now than in the past. I've noticed changes in her personality. She also has med. for anxiety. I wonder what drugs and doses others have taken. We are researching doctors in CA/LA area, NYC. Would love to know any others that might be good. Thanks in advance. I will try and read other old posts when not tending to my small children! Guest guest
I'd recommend Dr. Glazer in Boston. I met him to get a second opinion for my own surgery and chose him to do my surgery, only, my HMO back in VT wouldn't let me 'use' Dr. Glazer bc he wasn't 'in the system.' Fortunately, my doctor here in VT, Dr. Monsey, did a remarkable job. My spine was 65/76 and twisted with a rib hump. I'm now free of the rib hump (rib no. 10 was removed, ground up with donor bone and a bone graft from my hip and used as 'fodder' to fill in the vertebrae where the disks were taken out), spine straightened to about 25/40 with rods. I feel great and have little to no pain now. lj From: Casey <casey9195@...> Subject: new to group -- questions about pain med., drs, ...
