Guest guest
I found out about while surfing the HealthBoards website. One of the members had answered a question and provided a link to this group. I was diagnosed with CMT in 1990 after going to several orthopedic surgeons. I was walking on the outside of my left foot, but nobody seemed to know why. I finally found a doctor who knew about CMT and took the time to explain it to me. Nobody else in my family had been diagnosed at that time. A tendon transfer and heel repositioning fixed that problem. Since then I've had two hand surgeries to strengthen my thumbs and two foot surgeries to overcome foot drop. These have all been successful. I have a Toe-Off AFO for my right foot that I wear at work. I'm going to be 40 next month and until two years ago I felt really good overall. I now get easily fatigued and I just generally feel weaker. I had the Athena Labs DNA test two years ago: CMT 1x I'm looking forward to learning from this group.
