Guest guest
My name is Tommy Shields. Thank you for allowing me to participate in the discussion group. I have not actually been diagnosed with CMT. My mother had CMT, as did two of her brothers. Both of my grandparents had CMT. I am 47 years old and possess extremely high arches, thinning calves, balance problems, and regularly sprain my ankles. I am losing the feeling in my hands (although I have had neck surgery in the last 5 years, which may account for this) and the symptoms of circulatory distress in my ankles and feet are increasingly prominent. I suppose I am in about the same shape my mother was when diagnosed in her early 50's. I simply have spent the money to be told " officially " what my physician friends accede to be the case. I look forward to learning more from you all and appreciate your patience with one who has often been a " lurker " on sites like this, but never a participant.
