Guest guest
Nan, I am so sorry to hear of your pain. If you need someone to chat with or just vent, you can email me at purplebutterfly1@...! What and where was your pain prior to the implant? I have been told that the stimulator does hardly anything for back pain. That is more successful for nerve pain. I have nerve damage from my first surgery (I have had two so far), I am scheduled to be my trial in May. I have spoken to a lot of people that have had good success with the stimulator. Maybe you need to discuss this in detail with the rep. From what I understand, don't give up yet. Have it reprogrammed and see what happens. I guess I am confused when people talk about contacting the Medtronic rep... are we given a representatives name to call and we deal with them instead of the surgeon? Can someone clear my confusion? Nan, keep your chin up. more pain Hi all Here I am a week and a half out from the stimulator implant and I'm actually having way worse back pain then before the surgery (this isn't inscisional pain). I know that I have to talk to the medtronic rep to get it reprogrammed but I really feel that this thing is doing absolutely nothing, and maybe even worse. Talking to the surgeon is useless, he says it will all be better once its reprogramed. But I remember in the hospital the medtronic rep saying that the area of the back that I had pain in was hard to cover. I never had much of a trial and I'm just getting more upset with every passing hour. Any suggestions? Could this actually come down to having it taken out? I mean I really can't believe how incredible the pain is. thanks for listening and reading Nan
Guest guest
Hi, I'm still new to the group and am not the best in keeping up... I had aqua therapy Tuesday night for the first time. I was hurting a bit while doing this and asked the therapist about this. The next morning I woke up and felt wonderful! No pain! Pain didn't start until after I did a couple of errands around town and was headed in to work. But even then it wasn't bad. That was Wednesday morning. Thursday morning and this morning I've woken up basically screaming and crying with pain from head to foot. I feel like it is hard to move and every muscle hurts. An hour after I take my morning meds I'm usually okay but still feeling achy and like I really can't do anything any more. Is this from the aqua therapy I had 3 days ago? Is it from my meds I'm taking for pain? Right now I'm up to 1200 mg neurontin, 4 percocets and 200 mg provigil (I know this doesn't have anything to do with pain but it seems to help the pain settle down). In addition, I know I am depressed and I take 60 mg of cymbalta for that. Is this just a reaction that I'm having because both DH and DS are not home? I'm used to DH not being home but this is the first time DS (16 yo) been away when he's not with his relatives. I'm confused. I don't know what to do. I feel like I have to back out of all my commitments and I just can't do anything any more. Suggestions? I'm desparate. Thanks, Marietta
