Guest guest
>So, how did you do at the doc's? Hopefully you'll be off those meds soon. When he looked at my weight his face went funny and he said that maybe the nurse needed to re-weigh me. I said, no it was accurate and he said, “Are you starving yourself???” I replied that I was doing the diabetic diet and exercising. Then he said he wanted to follow me around and eat what I am eating!!! He is pretty overweight himself. My BP was 120/74. My heart rate was perfect. He is sending me for a special test where they freeze a blood sample and see how your body is using the insulin it is making. He said, “This is the lowest weight I have ever seen you at.” I told him it was the lowest weight most people have ever seen me at!! When they weighed me, his scale said I only weighed 243!!!!! That is a weight loss of 18 lbs in right at 5 weeks!! What a jump start! I knew that my home scale was slightly higher than his medical one. It turns out that it is almost 4 lbs higher. I counted my last weight in Jan as 260. That was on his scale. If the tests come back right, I can get of the meds now! WooHooo!! Cherilyn Who is just slightly excited. Guest guest
Hi , You did come over! Glad to see you here. This is the group that feels most like " home " to me even though I started with groups back in '98, this is where my heart is. I wanted to tell you that I first was drawn to you by your sig. I used to sign off with " Namaste " but found that folks never did quite get it (things seem to have progressed a bit since then). Are you a yoga girl? The other is " From Head to Toe, Body and Soul " , I have had this in mind since I started Body and Soap 5 yrs ago! Still haven't figured out how to build my own website (either too much else to do, or lazy <g>!). Im a CP gal at heart but been having a lot of fun with MP lately too. I also do lotions, Salts, fizzies, ect... bunch of stuf. For about 5 years. I use to be a pop but turned into a soda somewhere along the line. Also use to be a mush but now a cereal. LOL Welcome! Shaye Intro 'allo all! My thanks to Ehrhardt for inviting me over to this list. And I see a few other names I recognize from other lists. :^) I make mostly HP soap, lotion, with a bit of M & P and a couple other things. I also embroider aprons for soapers/crafters. And I'm just as pleased as punch to be here! (And no, I'm not usually this chipper, LOL!) I live in North Tonawanda, so I'm a " pop " and not a " soda " (although I just started Atkins today so now I'm neither, LOL!). Anyway, just saying hi! I do just about eveything except not very much of MP. Lately I have been working on the design for my website(at this rate it will take me all year to get it ready...arrgh) and learning about candles. Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but there is going to be a CNYSoapmakers gathering in Rochester area at Dee's house on July 12....maybe we'll see you there? Guest guest
Don, I am interested in that sound machine. Have you noticed the sprouts growing any faster or better, etc? Where did you get that sound machine? Jeaney from S.Africa Intro I just joined this group today. I grow and eat sprouts for a large part of my diet and other raw foods. For a long time I've been wanting to connect with others who sprout . I am so happy to find this group. I started sprouting with jars, (still use some for various sprouts), then tried various automatic sprouters. My favorite sprouter now is called EasySprout which is so simple to use and clean and is not automatic. You can check it out on the site. I am happy to learn and contribute to the group. One of the things I enjoy doing is having a sound machine for my sprouts and plants which play socean waves, sounds of brooks, birds, etc. I also sing to the sprouts. They love it (no complaints yet:) All the best, Chirper
Guest guest
Welcome Dawn! Libby Intro This might be a re-intro but I joined a bit ago and haven't posted and now I want to talk all the time about Body for Life!!LOL I am Dawn and I live in Wa.state. I am 35 (29) years old and have a wonderful husband and 2 fab children 6 and 3. I am on C1 W8. I weighed myself at the very beginning and came in at 183 lbs--5'6 " and wearing a size 14. I haven't weighed myself again as my kids broke my scale and I truly don't want to know! I am going by how I feel! For some reason (and I read the book 3 times) I didn't measure my parts until my 6th week. I am going to remeasure again at W10 to see if there is any difference. As of right now I know I am losing some as some of my " tighter " 14 and some of my 12's fit me. My biggest problem area is my tummy, thighs and hips (OF COURSE!!) and that is the place I don't really see any improvement yet! No matter I FEEL GREAT!!! and that alone is enough to keep me VERY motivated. I love the muscles I am developing--my calves are AWESOME!!! I just know as soon as the fat starts coming off it will be amazing! I began BFL because my older sister (who is now on C3) looks so fabulous and is so happy it was contagious. Well if you made it this far--thanks! Can't wait to talk Dawn
Guest guest
Welcome Jan and Lee to the group. Jan I like your circ sig. Mothering.com vaccine forum also has some good info you can wade through on vaccines besides ofcourse the archives for this list.Take care! Sara mommy to unvaccinated,bf,GI kiddos Nimet 4 and 15mo. He's had lots of ear problems which turned out to be a dairy allergy, so I've been focused on that (and a thyroglossal duct cyst removal). Now I'm concerned about what we're putting in our children's bodies when we vaccinate them. He was due for MMR and DIP/TET yesterday at his 15 month appointment, and I declined them because I need to do more research. She said these would be his last until kindergarten. Hubby and I aren't sure if we're going to do anymore. (We have let them do all the other vaccinations without question.) Now we know better. Nice to meet you all! Guest guest
DON'T do it. You will just be adding more poisons to your child's body. Research the issue and discover for yourself. There is enough junk in our water, food and air alone and then to blast a child's body with poisons injected deep into the body puts the icing on the cake that could cause immediate problems or something down the road like diabetes or cancer. Guest guest
Hi Jo, In the 15 years it took for doctors to diagnose me with AS, several suggested that I see a psychologist; that it was all in my head. I kept questioning the doctors and I changed internists several times because I knew something was physically wrong. Pat
Guest guest
Hi Jo, I'm glad that you found this website, you will find a lot of help here in figuring out whatis going on with your health. I was diagnosed with Reiter's (ReA) 24 years ago. I was forced to retire from my career 4 years ago when the pain got too severe for me to function. Like yourself, I was screaming (and moaning) during the night, loud enough to keep my spouse awake. Like you, I also can't make a fist with either hand. When I gave in and sought treatment, I was very fortunate to be referred to a capable Rheumatologist who was able to help me - the very first thing he did was give me morphine to control the pain. My heart goes out to you, and many others, who are not getting relief from the awful pain that ReA causes. I know how miserable you are when you're not able to sleep from the pain, it makes normal functioning impossible. I recommend that you go to the archives on this site and print out all the information you can take to the doctor, to make him aware of your condition, and prove to him that pain control is your number one priority. So many doctors are afraid of prescribing narcotics, due to the morons that abuse the drugs. The drugs are made for YOU, and you must let the doctor know this. Think of this - how will you know what treatment works for you, NSAIDs or DMARDs, while all you feel is pain? I wish you the best, we here are all with you. Harv, Detroit MI, I'm 48, I've had ReA for 24 years.
Guest guest
Hello Jo. When I read emails like yours I get furious at doctors! It's so frustrating to hear stories about doctors feeling that patients should maintain this ignorant 'yes, sir' status with them. I don't know what kind of medical coverage exists in the UK, but if you have any opportunity to get another opinion I would jump at it! Would it be hard to convince the doctor to refer you to a rheumatologist? That's who you need to see! Others who have replied to your message have good advice--download information about Reiter's (and other arthritic conditions). And check out some books on the topic. I found this website through an excellent book called LIVING WELL WITH AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE by J. Shomon. You'll learn not just info about your condition, but how to feel more empowered in your quest for proper diagnosis and treatment. The best part--this author is not a doctor, but a sufferer of several autoimmune diseases. She's been there and knows! I wish you the best in your journey to health! Guest guest
Welcome Kurt, I am in to nutrition as well and had to learn so much, especially the dangers of vaccine, the difficult way. This is a great group and glad you joined. Lynda Intro Hello Group, My name is Kurt from Chicago, IL. I am married and have a little girl named Madeline. We are originally from Wisconsin and might be moving back there in 6-7 mos. I would prefer to move to North Carolina if our company decides to expand the business to the southeast region. My background is in physical therapy, I have been doing PT now for 10 years. I expanded on my PT education to learn more about health and nutrition/alternative medicine since I see first hand how overmedicated our society is. I am a nutrition nut and love teaching others about how to create a healthier life. In my sparetime in invest in real estate and I have an online nutrition business. I am sure I am going to learn a lot from the group and be able to contribute as well. Kurt
