Guest guest
I am sending strong prayers to the Creator that your surgery goes well ,and you have a fast recovery. Cyn -- Re: thank you My family and I want to thank everyone who has emailed me with good wishes for safe surgery and with your prayers. It has helped calm me. My surgery is scheduled for 9:45 tomorrow morning. I have asked my husband to email the group when he is able to let you all know I am fine. Again I thank you all. I will be thinking of you tomorrow when I get scared. hugs, Sue
Guest guest
I agree Terry!!! I have been reading for months...I don't post too much but I read every day and this site and the people here are amazing! Thank you from me too ! Nanci From: terryhartley77 <terryhartley77@...>Subject: Thank you iodine Date: Thursday, January 21, 2010, 12:31 PM This is just a heartfelt "thank you" to for all that you do. When I joined this group, you welcomed me and I have learned so much. I am grateful every day for finding this wealth of information.I took Synthroid for years and then lost my thyroid to cancer 8 years ago. I felt so hopeless and alone, and no one seemed to understand. But natural thyroid and iodine have given me my life back. It's not the same as having a thyroid, but I'm a wife, mother and grandmother who's quality of life has greatly improved. Thank you so very much. I know you struggle with your own health, family and keeping this site going. I am indebted to you and I just wanted you to know what it means to me.Terry

Guest guest
The receptionist is wrong, wrong and wrong again. Your blood results belong to you, and you are entitled to a copy of them. Perhaps the next time you see her you can show her the NHS Link http://www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/1309.aspx?categoryid=68 & subcategoryid=160 .. Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have a legal right to apply for access to health information held about you and your doctor cannot withhold these from you. This includes your NHS or private health records held by a GP, optician or dentist, or by a hospital. A health record contains information about your mental and physical health recorded by a healthcare professional as part of your care. If you want to see your health records, you don't have to give a reason. Just tell her again that you would like a written copy of your results together with the reference range for each of the tests done, and if she refuses, tell her that you will be taking this matter up with your local Primary Care Trust. You should have no bother. Luv - Sheila Hi, Just want to thank everyone who has took the time to reply to my post. I have been to doctors for my results today, but receptionist said they could not give me a print out of my exact results, she could only tell me that they were low and doc was sending a letter to me telling me that my thyroxine was to be increased from 75mg to 100 once again. Guest guest
I want to thank everyone for their advice and opinions and suggestions! Everyone was very helpful! Her dr has actually been monitoring a slight hump on her right shoulder blade area since Aug. 2010 and noticed this Aug it was more pronounced which led to the xray. She is a great dr but obviously not a specialist. Looking at the website the closest specialists are in Seattle, which is about 4-5 hours away. I know this may not seem like a long distance to some but we live on a very small fixed income and a trip like that would take almost all the money we get in a month, between the gas and the overnight stay. We would do anything for our daughter but a trip like that just isn't possible for us right now. Since it seems routine to recheck in 6 months maybe we will wait and see what comes of that check up unless we notice anything new. We haven't told her about this. She is developmentally delayed significantly and really would not understand anything about this so we decided for the time being that she not know. We have notified the school though and they know not to say anything to her but to keep an eye on her during PE and what not. I really appreciate everyone's help with the xray report. It helps to understand the numbers and words! Jenn
Guest guest
Jenn, both of my kids have some developmental delays and one of them has enough scolisos that she needed surgery at age 10. Good luck with your diagnosis and treatment. I do hope it all goes well and that you keep in touch with this really knowledgeable group of scolisis patients and friends. Guest guest
Try checking out the closest Shriner's hospital where they take scoliosis kids at no cost and include the cost of transportation. Guest guest
Jenn, What about Shriners' Children's Hospital? Treatment is top notched and free. I have read they also cover some travel cost if not most. They are scoli specialists that handle scoliosis who are also in private practice. Please check them out. Guest guest
I went through shriners and they offer transportation if you cant find a way to transport yourself there. However they only can provide you service till you are 21 years of age. My next appointment will be my last. Then I will need to find another Orthepidic doctor near me that takes my insurance. But I would seriously recommend shriners for and scoliosis surgery. They did a great job fixing up my back and now 5 years later I am expecting to have my first child here this november. I hope someone elses success story will help you make your decison. > > Jenn, > What about Shriners' Children's Hospital? Treatment is top notched and > free. Guest guest
Thank you, and your welcome Debbie! I answer the least of all the moderators, but I know we all are excited to see each member that gains better health from the knowledge here. We have all had our own journey in achieving better health, and are happy to help others. Donna in IL, moderator From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf Of burtfamily4god@...Sent: Saturday, March 17, 2012 1:22 PMiodine Subject: Thank You I just wanted to say Thank You to the administrators of this group and to everyone who chimes in. I started iodine supplementation over a week ago and I can't believe how great I feel. I was feeling like " death warmed over " and on just one 12.5 mg pill of Iodoral daily I have a bounce back to my step! If I weren't nursing my baby I'd take more iodine, but am pleased already with this energy increase. I'm now able to get back to exercising (T-Tapping) which I am sure will only help my energy levels at all. I'm sure I'll be around this group for quite awhile, soaking up all the knowledge I can!Debbie Burt
