Guest guest
Scoliosis can run from mild to awful. I'd hate to scare a mom with a 13 year old. I know some people who have it, stay fit, function and do very well. I see on here that others have a terrible horrible time of it with daily pain, depression and complications. Me, I am somewhere in the middle. I have had 2 surgeries and some level of pain that worsens with certain things I do. I do things that I know I should not like lift things, paint and walk too long on concrete. I am 52. My hardest time is at night with back pain, leg spasms and such. I have learned how to manage most of it. My daughter's doctor did the same thing with the come back in 6 months. I was not happy due to my history. I called and the next doctor braced her and it made a big difference. She is now 25, out fo the brace and working as a Deputy Sheriff with a heavy gun belt and lots of activity. She has bouts of back pain but not unbearable or unmanageable. If you feel like the doctor's not quite on target get a second opinion.
