Guest guest
If you were doing well on the dose of Armour you were taking before you reduced it to 1 grain, you should go back onto that dose. It is natural that your TSH should be very suppressed when taking natural thyroid extract because it contains all the normal thyroid hormones your body requires - so there is absolutely no need for any thyroid stimulating hormone to be excreted by your pituitary gland. I guess your GP is expecting the same blood results on Armour as he would expect if you were no levothyroxine alone. This is crazy. On Armour, your FT4 and FT3 should be in the upper third of the reference range, with probably T3 right at the top. This is where it should be. If Armour isn't helping you at all, that could be because you have another condition that is running alongside your hypothyroidism. These could be low adrenal reserve, systemic candidiasis, or you might have low ferritin, B12, Vitamin D3, magnesium, zinc and copper. Ask your GP to check these out because if they are low, the thyroid hormones that are in Armour will not be getting properly absorbed - you will need to supplement whatever you are low in. Many hypothyroid patients have low ferritin, so do check this one particularly. Look on our web site www.tpa-uk.org.uk - click on 'Hypothyroidism' in the Menu, and in the drop down Menu, click on 'Associated Conditions' and read everything that is there. Luv -Sheila marianne spoke of this in a thread sunday, this has been a curse for me for over a decade and armour never helped that. any ideas for getting back on track? also I have recently had to reduce to 1 gr because my tsh was 0.003, I wonder if a gluten/ casein free diet wd do this ? thanks' sandra Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 8.5.375 / Virus Database: 270.13.12/2235 - Release Date: 07/13/09 05:56:
