Guest guest
Good!Anger with consciousness can be good too!Arhata After you have lashed out with anger, frustration or hate, go and take a look at the mirror. Do you like what you see? I see an ugly, despicable individual – someone who hates himself for what he has done. This is the Karma of Anger. You become ugly and difficult to look at.Now i am not referring to pure physical beauty. There are people who by "societal" standards are not attractive but they are so peaceful and calming to look at. Their presence evokes feelings of gentleness, harmony and love. These are individuals who rarely succumb to anger, accept criticism with an open heart and are always loving and kind.On the other hand you see people with model like features who you just feel uncomfortable being around. Their presence invokes feelings of irritation, guilt and apprehensiveness. You can't trust them…you generally have a bad feeling around them, and you are always on edge. These are individuals who easily anger. Instead of trying to control their anger through Metta Meditation they spew hateful words, yell, scream and run amok. The Buddha referred to this as an unwholesome habit. One that has far reaching Karmic repercussions in this life or the next. If you continue to be an angry and irritable person, you will become a physically ugly individual – one who everybody will want to avoid just by looking at you.On the other hand if you do not meet the "societal" standards of beauty; by practicing love, compassion and understanding you become instantly loveable to everyone around you – regardless of your physical traits. When you practice such patience and understanding you will begin to see that your physical traits start to improve. Stress lines in your face will disappear, you will look younger and more vibrant – people will clamor to be in your presence just to feed off your good vibrations. The next time someone offers you constructive criticism, makes you angry or irritable, practice compassion and love – it will far reaching consequences beyond just your mental health.I would love to hear your thoughts in my comments section : http://multiplefacets.net/2011/09/the-karma-of-anger.html Best,Sanjaya
