Please note that 15th December, 2008, is the deadline to apply for the course. The PGDCR is a 6 months (which includes 1 month of field work) residential professional programme of instruction, training and field practice. The programme includes the components of field engagement, multi and interdisciplinary approach, networking and research. It will be taught by experienced faculty from TISS and subject experts and practitioners from the field. The programme is immensely useful for capacity building of professionals who are already working in the area of child rights or who want to pursue a better career in the area of child rights. (Please go through the Prospectus for further details about the Programme at TISS website www.tiss.edu). Eligibility: Bachelor's Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent from a recognized University, in any discipline, preferably with some experience of working with children. Sponsored candidates should apply through proper channels. Duration of the Course: Six months (It includes 1 month of field work). The sponsored candidates pursuing the course will have to actually attend 5 months of classes after which one month of field work can be done either at their own organization or any other of their choice. Application Forms and Information Brochure: By sending a request letter to the Deputy Registrar, along with a DD drawn in favour of the "Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai" for Rs.500, payable at Mumbai. OR, from the Cash Counter at TISS, Mumbai against cash payment of Rs.500. OR, by downloading from www.tiss.edu (to be completed and submitted with a DD for Rs 500) Course Fee and Scholarships: The fee for the entire course is Rs. 31050 (This does not include boarding and lodging charges). Fellowships and scholarships are also available for some deserving candidates including the ones who are nominated by grass root organisations. Hostel Availability: Hostel facilities will be available to all the students selected for this Course.
