Nikki do you journal. If so look it over and see where you could tweak what you are doing. Sometimes it takes just looking back and see what is working and not working. I know watching my water, portions, and exercise keeps me going in the right direction.

Hi, Ellie. Don't worry, the myotomy will help! I did a web

search and found this surgeon who has experience doing the Heller

myotomy in pediatric patients. I'm sure he could point you to

the most experienced surgeon for adults in Alaska if you or your

doctor contact him:

G Jolley MD

3340 Providence Dr., Anchorage, AK

Tel. 907-563-1588

If you can travel to Seattle, Dr. Pellegrini and Dr. Oelschlager

do many Heller myotomies:

http://depts.washington.edu/surgery/faculty/oelschlager.html

Please point your parents to some basic information about

achalasia:

http://patients.uptodate.com/topic.asp?file=eso_dis/7332 & title=Achalasia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achalasia

Of course your parents are also welcome to join this list and ask

questions.

By the way, my son has achalasia, had the myotomy last year and

is doing

well.

Hi Pat! You sound very sweet, and I would love to talk to you any time. I also live in California, Beaumont (southern). My youngest is 15 and planning her apartment out down to the paint chips and furniture wanted! The other prodigal son is off sowing oats, spending on what ever makes him and his friends happy! Waiting and praying deeply. I have no fatted calf, but might make homemade tacos or RIBS!! His favorite. Whats a mother to do? Raise a child up in the way he should go, and in the end he will not stray from it. A little crying, but I'm ok.

With my ranting on n on, you might say I like to talk, or need to. House bound. I do have a scooter, but not sure how far I can get on it, and afraid to get 1/2 way there only to run outta juice!! So here I sit. Tomorrow, I am I am going to call our local community center and sign up for art classes. My husband bought me a beautiful art box last year for Christmas. I painted a beautiful scene of the sunset coming down on the Alaska mountain range and all down the cane was like a story of treed woodland, grassy pasture with a bench just before my back yard garden with its brick path shrouded by iris blooms and for-get-me-nots. I love sitting on that white wicker bench under my tree! I just soaked myself into that painting. I love it. Now I have to make more to sell for other women who need a piece of beauty under hand!

I'll let you go. Hope to hear from you soon my new friend!

Blessings,

Joyce

Just having a bad phase, but I get goodish periods and bad periods, but at the

moment the mornings are bad and I'm suffering from bad mental fatigue all day

and head irritation, anyone else on here similiar? Plus the usual cognitive

difficulties associated with this disorder!

What are peoples views on the methylene protocol for CFS and what improvements

have you made whilst on it. If anyone has tried this sort of thing of course! I

took something akin to the protocol between 2003 and 2007. (Nutri's Multi-Zyme)

but I found that after a while the old symptoms came back with a vengeance, and

I also noticed a mental deterioration in myself?

Hi Kathy,

I was banded on Dec. 8th, 2007 by Dr. Kuri in Tijuena. I live in Spokane WA.

My insurance did not cover the surgery so I self paid. The cost was only

$7200.00 for everything....that being said...I have had nothing but a good

experience so far. I have lost about 40 pounds and feel great. I got great care

and went back to work the day after I got back from Mexico..about 4 days later.

I would be happy to give you more information if you like...You can give me a

call too if you like....I will send you my number.

I was banded in Oct 25 and now have been at goal for

about 9 months. I lost 150 lbs in 20 months. I started

my journey using a walker for a weight related back

injury. Now I am a jock and am able to do just about

anything I want. I now feel younger than I did when I

had my daughter almost 30 yrs ago. The me who was

hidden under so many layers has been found and I am

thoroughly enjoying life with my husband, kids and

grandkids. I have posted my journey in the files

Hi ,

I'm jeanie (washington state) and I just had mine done in Tijuana by

Dr Kuri on Feb 21st. he is so nice and the hospital is immaculant.

Beautiful! I had it done on a Thursday and took the next week off and

glad I did just to fully recover and feel good in clothes not touching

my incissions. Some people go right back to work but i'm a cry baby.

lol. it wasn't bad really. his $7500 price includes 2 nights in the

hospital and 2 nights in a hotel and pick up and drop off from the San

Diego airport.

The 1st day at hotel we went walking around shopping on Revolution

Avienda for around 4 hours...moving slowly and being on pain pills. :)

then the next day we went to the mall and walked and then watched 2

movies and walked more. the day we left (left at night) so we took a

bus to rito Beach and hung out on the beach for a while, drank

Papaya smoothie there. :) my daughter went with me and stayed in the

hospital room with me too. They are really good there.

Good luck where ever you decide.

Hi Carol!

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear that you've been feeling so good, and

I hope that your recovery continues to go smoothly. Defintely don't

overdo things though!

I haven't gotten a phantom itch before, but I hope yours goes away

soon! As far as the random numbness - I've had that, and also

remember having it after my original scoliosis surgery. Pretty much

all of my feeling came back within a year or so. After this surgery,

I regained a lot of feeling within the first 2 months, but now have a

lot of other numbness due to MS.

Sorry to hear that you woke up with the ventilator - NOT PLEASANT!!!

I hope that you're feeling up to attending your son's boot camp

graduation. I had a fairly extensive trip at about 2 1/2 months post-

op for a funeral which included a 2 hr car ride, a hotel stay, and 2

days sitting up and wheeling around in my wheelchair. It was

exhausting, but I managed it pretty well. I don't know how far you

have to travel, or how you're getting there, but planning it in steps

may help you manage it easier.

Good luck with everything as you recover, and please keep us updated!

Carol, I love to hear ideas like the one with the spatula. This is just one of many things we go through that they just don't get!!! I've been trying to think of a way to get my biofreeze on my back in locations unreachable. I also don't like asking my 15 year old son to do this. So....I end up suffering through it. I think I'm going to try an idea with the spatula and if it works I will share it as well. Congradulations on your son. I just got back into town from Fort Leonardwood, MO. My oldest graduated Army Basic Training. He is now in San doing his medical training and then Mental Health training. Once he finishes all that he will be heading to North Carolina to Airborne school. In case y'all haven't figured it out he was my "problem child". You know, the kind you get gray hair from assuming you survive his childhood???? Anyway, he has

now decided to jump out of aircraft which most moms would through a fit over but all I can do is smile and think, "that sounds like Zach". So....I'm about to see if I'll survive his adulthood. Any ideas on how I'll do that I'm open for suggestions.... Y'all take care............Zadeshamrock539 <shamrock539@...> wrote: Hi,I am about 5 weeks post op and doing pretty well. LOL!

I was just rereading some of the messages and I noticed I did a typo

the other day. I mistakingly wrote that I am 81 years old. I am

definitely NOT 81 years old. I am 51 years old.!

Yikes! That would be brutal if anyone had to go though this again

at that ripe old age.

, we have used the CedarCide " Best Yet " which is what is

recommended for the home and attics, including a/c vents. Allow 1

gallon per 1000 sqft. you fog thru the return air vents first until the

house gets real smoky looking inside (about 5 minutes) This gets the

ceilings, walls. tops of furniture then drifts down to floors. It will

not hurt your carpets or floors, but be sure and leave it alone once you

have sprayed. Give it at least 10-14 days before you vacuum or mop.

This gives the oil time to penetrate and kill the eggs and larvae the

little devils leave around everywhere. After you have fogged, go room

to room, spraying everything. Spray the beds, tops and bottoms,

mattresses & springs tops and bottoms also. Don't be afraid to spray it

on your sheets and pillowcases either. It is really a do-all spray in

the home. However, do not expect an overnight complete kill. It will

take about 72 hours if you have done it right. Also. open your closets

and dresser drawers and spray them too. You need a good respirator(yhe

kind with filters) and probably goggles. You should close each room

when you finish and let it alone for a couple of hours. When you

finish, take a break away from the house for a couple of hours before

you start opening windows and airing it out. The smell is rather strong

at first, but not a bad smell, like a cedar chest. One more thing - if

you have fish and flowers in the home make sure they are protected

before you start. The spray will kill both of them. I draped towels

over my cpu. tv. toaster and other electronics before we started also.

Best of luck to you. Joan

Hi ,

I used Cedarcide's Best Yet Insect Spray in my condo last month, and

then used it yesterday in my mother's house. When I used it on my

condo, I only used the hand-held sprayer (sort of like a garden

sprayer). It was somewhat difficult to use in that I had to spray the

ceilings and walls, and then I didn't have enough product -- one

gallon was not really enough. This because the spray comes out too

fast from the hand held sprayer.

Yesterday I used the tri-jet fogger on my mom's place (she had to buy

it because I'm broke). It produced a very light and fine mist that

stayed suspended in the air for several hours. I wasn't sure how much

to shoot into the rooms so I sprayed it until I couldn't see through

the fog. To fog up an 1100 square foot house took about 1/2 gallon of

product. I also used the hand held sprayer to treat the furniture and

the rugs. My mom's house is infested, but she doesn't feel anything

biting her. I get swarmed when I go there, and that's why we treated it.

I'm planning on treating my condo again this weekend, because I can

still feel some bugs when I'm using my computer, but it's nothing like

before. My home office has hundreds of books and a lot of papers, and

I didn't treat this room thoroughly. I'm going to use the fogger

because it should reach into all the books, nooks and crannies in

here. I have felt an occasional bug jump on my foot in the kitchen

and living room, but not much.

The big problem I'm grappling with right now is that I can't seem to

get the parasites out of my body. I have had the problem more or less

under control for a few months in terms of not having bugs crawling

all over my skin, but " they " are still inside of me. If you have time

to read some of the older posts on this forum, there are some people

who have this problem, it goes into remission for months or years, and

then comes back again. I don't have a clue how these bugs can live

and breed inside my body without leaving any marks on my skin, but

they seem to be doing it. The puzzle to me is how do they reach

maturity? Where are they? I have not tried ivermectin because I'm

concerned about the toxicity, and I note that a number of people on

this site have used it without what I consider success (ie eradicating

the bugs entirely).

The Best Yet is supposed to be non-toxic, except to plants, and you

can spray it on your skin and your pets. I haven't had any adverse

reaction to it, but you don't want to inhale a lot of it because it's

overwhelming. You need to wear a painter's respirator when you apply it.

Do you have any idea what caused all hell to break loose in your house

recently?

Well wishes,

myrtle

Myrtle,

Thanks for the response. I don't know why they are attacking me again except that possibly a lot of them died off in the winter only to return again as soon as the weather got better. I have no idea where they came from, when we moved in we did a lot of landscaping removing ivy, overgrown scrubs etc. but we also removed a birds nest from the gutter. My neighbor at the back of me has about 4-5 bird feeders so you can only imagine how many birds that attracts! My neighbor to the side of me has them living in the exterior walls. To be honest I think I'm always going to have this problem as long as the birds are being fed by my neighbor.

Re: Hi

Hi ,I used Cedarcide's Best Yet Insect Spray in my condo last month, andthen used it yesterday in my mother's house. When I used it on mycondo, I only used the hand-held sprayer (sort of like a gardensprayer). It was somewhat difficult to use in that I had to spray theceilings and walls, and then I didn't have enough product -- onegallon was not really enough. This because the spray comes out toofast from the hand held sprayer.Yesterday I used the tri-jet fogger on my mom's place (she had to buyit because I'm broke). It produced a very light and fine mist thatstayed suspended in the air for several hours. I wasn't sure how muchto shoot into the rooms so I sprayed it until I couldn't see throughthe fog. To fog up an 1100 square foot house took about 1/2 gallon ofproduct. I also used the hand held sprayer to treat the furniture andthe rugs. My mom's house is infested, but she doesn't

feel anythingbiting her. I get swarmed when I go there, and that's why we treated it.I'm planning on treating my condo again this weekend, because I canstill feel some bugs when I'm using my computer, but it's nothing likebefore. My home office has hundreds of books and a lot of papers, andI didn't treat this room thoroughly. I'm going to use the foggerbecause it should reach into all the books, nooks and crannies inhere. I have felt an occasional bug jump on my foot in the kitchenand living room, but not much. The big problem I'm grappling with right now is that I can't seem toget the parasites out of my body. I have had the problem more or lessunder control for a few months in terms of not having bugs crawlingall over my skin, but "they" are still inside of me. If you have timeto read some of the older posts on this forum, there are some peoplewho have this problem, it goes into remission

for months or years, andthen comes back again. I don't have a clue how these bugs can liveand breed inside my body without leaving any marks on my skin, butthey seem to be doing it. The puzzle to me is how do they reachmaturity? Where are they? I have not tried ivermectin because I'mconcerned about the toxicity, and I note that a number of people onthis site have used it without what I consider success (ie eradicatingthe bugs entirely). The Best Yet is supposed to be non-toxic, except to plants, and youcan spray it on your skin and your pets. I haven't had any adversereaction to it, but you don't want to inhale a lot of it because it'soverwhelming. You need to wear a painter's respirator when you apply it. Do you have any idea what caused all hell to break loose in your houserecently?Well wishes, myrtle>> Hi all,> I'll try to keep this short. Cedarcide makes a product that you can spray in the yard. It sounds

like you need a lot of repellant on your property. You can email any

questions to Dr. Ben Oldag, or call them on their 800 number. I hope

you get the situation under control again soon. It's really tough.

Hi ,

I have a two year old and an 8 month old just about to

crawl on our carpet where we feel all the " bugs " and

terrified. I keep picking her up and putting her on

her blanket as she scoots away. so sad to deal with

this in the midst of taking care of kids that are in

such need of our every moment.

Deb and I, Tammy, live here in San Diego and are

dealing with this mite problem too. We don't think we

have the same mite, but they definitely follow the

characteristics of them. She is still in the process

of using the Cedarcide, and I believe I will be trying

it within the month. I don't want the summer to creep

up and still have to deal with these things! I feel

so bad that pretty much all of my daughter's first

year of life was consumed by these bugs! I can't even

remember when I last took a picture of video of her.

It is not fair to her, I am sure, but I know how hard

it is to take care of young kids, and live with the

daily routine of fighting these things. Exhausting to

say the least.

We will get back to you on the Cedarcide. We hope it

works as well. Deb has had it for a long time as well

and is pretty infested. We all hope it works for her.

She also sprinkled Sevin dust on her floors.

Hi again,

I know exactly how you feel. Last year I spend about 6 months of constant cleaning everyday, I actually lost about 7 pounds but I had hardly any time to spend with my kids. Try not to feel bad it gets better. I don't know how long you've been dealing with this but I no longer have to clean everyday the way I did last year and have more time to spend with the kids now.All winter all I had to do was my once a week major clean but I did use medicated talc every night after my shower and I used a lint roller on my bed but that was it. They have been bothering me a bit more lately and I'm back cleaning more often but now I do it every other day.I'm hoping the cedarcide will finally knock them out.

I have been dealing with this for about 7 months. My

daughter was only about 2 months old when it started.

When do you plan on trying the Cedarcide?

Hi Tammy,

I feel so bad for you because I know how guilty you feel about your kids. The only thing I can tell you which should make you feel better is there is more information available now than when I started with this problem almost 2 years ago and some people have been able to rid themselves totally which was a lot more positive news than a year ago when nobody seemed to be able to get rid of them. I tried all the usual sprays and did have a "professional" spray but I would always do it once and it never really made a difference. To be honest I think cleaning is one of the most important ways of ridding yourself of them. I really hope the cedarcide works because my only other option is to move and because we've only lived here 2 years and the housing market the way it is, it really isn't an option for a while.I'm planning to buy the cedarcide this week. It's expensive and as I'm sure you know having 2 small kids being a stay at home mom there isn't always

extra cash lying around. I've come to realise I need to treat my whole property which will not be cheap! I just wish my neighbor would stop feeding the birds, that would help! Was it a friend of yours that tried the cedarcide?
