You have raised valid points. Even though India has become the hub for clinical research , there is no guarantee that , i.New drugs tested in India will be made available here at affordable prices ii. Research involving our health needs and problems are considered and given priority Trials of new drugs for diseases that are endemic to this country such as tuberculosis, malaria, water borne should be encouraged iii 'Orhan drugs' are real sad story- no one is interested as returns are less iv. the research trials in india does not really benefit as most of them are mere duplication of data Mira desai ModeratorP.S.This mail was posted long back -twice ,but bounced back .. may be problem with network.
