Guest guest
Hi,- Let us not discriminate women. The imposed "culture of silence" upon women must change for their empowerment. From being the targets of "provider-centric" population control measures, women must come up to exercise self power. Women are the ones who get pregnant so they must wield the power of choice, whether to continue with the pregnancy or not. The critics who may say that EC pills amount to industry's "exploitation of women's market" are chauvinist men who do not open their masculine mouths on free availability of aphrodisiacs and erectile dysfunction medicines OTC. The existing figures of abortion point that "illegal abortions far exceed than reported number. The proportion of legal to illegal abortions is 1: 8" (Ref: Women and medicines in - A lay person's guide to medicines: What is in them and what is behind them. Locost, Vadodara. Chapter 8: P 349). If medicines like "Select" which claims to change the gender of fetus in womb from female to male and "Pregnicut" which claims to terminate unwanted pregnancy sell OTC as Ayurvedic medicines in India then who has the right to raise the voice to ban emergency contraceptive OTC?
