The Access Campaign challenges externalmedical-political actors in order to improve access and stimulatedevelopment of adapted medical tools (medicines, vaccines, diagnostics andother health technologies) that have or could have major impact onmorbidity and mortality in contexts where MSF works.The Pharmaceutical Coordinator of the MSF Access CampaignThe Pharmaceutical Coordinator conducts problem analysis and advocacy toovercome access barriers to health technologies, in particular related toprice, production, quality, availability in country and appropriateness offormulations. He/she monitors and influences pharmaceutical policydevelopments that affect access to essential health technologies.The Pharmaceutical Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the MSFAccess Campaign and is a member of the Management Team. He/she coordinatesand supports and a pharmacist team of three plus consultants.Specific objectives of the position:· Stimulate generic competition· Stimulate production and availability of appropriate drugformulations· Facilitate the use of key products and new formulations by MSF· Promote policies that ensure quality and reduce substandard medicines· Promote adapted regulatory strategies that allow timely approval ofnew and adapted products for neglected diseasesProfile:· Degree in Pharmacy with at least seven years postgraduate experienceincluding pharmaceutical policy and/or regulatory affairs· At least three years work experience in developing countries· Excellent communication and team working skills· Management experience· Fluency in written and oral English; French and/or Spanishappreciated· Available for frequent travel· Confident public speaker· Knowledge of MSF an advantage· Advocacy experience an advantagePractical information:Location: GenevaStart date: as soon as possibleTo apply, please send your CV and a covering letter by January 31, 2009 toIsabelle Sausserau at isabelle.saussereau@... at the AccessCampaign.
