Guest guest
Dear Dr. Vijay Thwani Sb: Thanks a lot for the offer. It is my proud privilege and profound pleasure to accept your offer of preparing a jist of all discussions of the month, to begin with. With the passage of time we will explore ways and means of compiling and publishing a full-fledged e-newsletter, followed by a hard copy/print-version of the same. This is a big responsibility and with all humility I am prepared to shoulder it with full enthusiasm, in spite of my several personal commitments/engagements here. Sir, I am not basically a computer professional though I have done some training courses in computer software and e-content development. I have also published some 25 professional articles in leading English Dailies whose details/full-text are available at the URL provided in my signature below. However instead of doing this task single-handedly, I would request your goodself to inform all moderators of the month to provide me with summaries of their respective discussions because moderator of a discussion is the best person to summarize/consolidate his proposed discussion and it will not be appropriate to transgress into his jurisdiction. Further that will make my job easy. Here I would also like to mention that with your kind permission and the consent of other Netrum members, once compiled, we can upload our monthly reports on the website of INRUD (International Network for Rational Use of Drugs) also through INRUDWikis. Here is an excerpt in this connection from the latest INRUD newsletter (January, 2008 issue). "A new feature on the INRUD website offers groups the opportunity to create and maintain their own “wikis.†According to Wikipedia, one of the best known wikis, a wiki is software that allows users to easily create, edit, and link web pages. Some forward thinking groups—Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Nepal, Tamil Nadu, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe—have seized this opportunity to keep their members up to date and involved. The wikis have been a long time coming, but from now on, groups can easily post and update their pages in real time. On the wiki pages, members can access news of recently completed work, upcoming projects, or other important stories." Your further comments in this regard are solicited. Dr. Geer M. Guest guest
Thanks Dr Geer. I appreciate the enthusiasm in your response. Since currently NetRUM discussion on prescheduled topic is on, we will wait till this concludes. Kindly bear with us till then.Best Vijay > > From: ishaq geer <ishaqgeer (DOT) co.in> > Subject: Re: New topic: Agricultural products (Fertilizers and Pesticides) as xenobiotics > netrumgroups (DOT) com > Date: Friday, 9 May, 2008, 9:13 PM > > > Dear Dr. Vijay and Smita Mali: > Previous discussion moderated by Dr.Bharat Gajjar was contemporary, brainstorming and thought-provoking. New discussion relating to " Agricultural Products as Xenobiotics " is expected to be equally interactive, informative and interesting. In my opinion Netrum is the best platform to revisit those academic areas that usually remain forsaken in our routine academic activities and we rarely find a chance to ponder, deliberate and enter into some fruitful discourse on such issues. Netrum prompts us to put forth our views and know-how on these burning issues and at the same time provides us an opportunity to search for something new in these areas and in the process we get to know about new developments, latest advances and recent trends in these topics. The biggest advantage is that at the end of the discussion we can come out with some results/conclusions , recommendations and suggestions for the powers that be for the sake of their practical > implementation and application in the respective fields of concern. Need of the hour is to somehow give practical shape to the net outcome of these discussions and devise some mechanism by means of which voice of Netrum can be got heard by those at the helm of affairs so that at the end of the day there is some net positive change brought about in the society as a result of these discussions. Alternately summaries with outcomes and recommendations of each weekly discussion can be got published at the end of each month in the form of a MONTHLY NETRUM NEWSLETTER.I request all Netrumians to kindly put forth their opinion and suggestions regarding this initiative before the next discussion starts tomorrow. > With kind regards: >  > Dr. Geer M. Guest guest
Dear Sir, All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) is a apex body of Retail and Whole Sale Chemists which has 5.5 lakh members all India. Mr A.N.Mohan, who was a president of AIOCD recently resigned from his post. It is learnt that the president caught red handed with more than 2 crores of unaccounted cash, medicines (fake and spurious) worth Rs One crores, and the accounts containing 75 lakh cash in other names. The Kerala Government took action against him filing a complaint of extortion. He along with his association was not supplying medicines to the shops run by Kerala State Government. The society shops were supplying medicines to reduces rates to patients in kerala. But the AIOCD has banned these retail chains. Same is the case in Maharashtra and other states also the stores like Subhiksha are not supplied the medicines by the AIOCD as it is a strong organisation dominated by whole salers. I have written one news item regarding the same, as the office bearers of AIOCD are trying to hide the matter from public. I doubt that the same will be published in The Hitavada or not hence, sending you the copy of the same. The news itself speaks the things. --- Vijay <drvijaythawani@...> wrote: > Thanks Dr Geer.
