Guest guest
Hello, I would like to present one more case I have come across. In the public health sector , it was seen that in primary care centers, there is huge stock of medicines like inj. propofol, inj. neostigmine, IV..hydroxy ethyl starch, inj ketamine. See the paradox- these very centers do not have basic medicines like analgesics, anti malarials, ORS powder but the procurement officials feel it necessary to have these anesthetics, plasma expanders when there is a dearth of doctors in these facilities. Letters are then sent to tertiary care hospitals like ours to utilize this stock and that too when expiry date is nearing. Just imagine how much waste of resources-- and all due to negligence on the part of procuring officials. lesson to be learnt-- procurement system should be working in accordance with the needs of the various facilities. So that useful medicines are available at the proper facilities. kunda Add more friends to your messenger and enjoy!
