Yes it is, look up the American Disabilities Act. I was fired for having Hepatitis C in November of 2000. I had worked at this hospital for 10 years with great evaluations. I decided to be open about my disease and that was a big mistake. The human resources department knew I was getting sicker and I got fired for things they made up or minor things my supervisor saw while she followed me around.

I got an attorney and I was reinstated will my full benefits back. They also have to pay my life insurance forever.

If I had it to do all over, I would not tell anyone.

People are just too mean.

I'd be a people person if people weren't such assholes.

Not in North America it isn't legal.If you work in a hospital they may put you in a different section to reduce the chance of cuts on you and or patients.

to gauge progress or lack of by taking these readings so I guess I'll

use what I have now as a baseline. All very confusing since even my

Hey Sue!

Hope your vacation was everything you thought and dreamed it would be.

Things here are still very bad, I can't wait until I can say they are

great...but unfortunatley, it is not yet.

Lenny remains to be in severe pain. He is a bull and never complains of

pain at all...he goes to work with migraines, heel spurs (he carries over 250

lbs of glass and installs glass for a living...so he is always on his feet)

he never ever says he doesn't feel good...he always says he is great....but he

is really suffering now..and it just is horrible to see...not to mention

that I am so angry at the jackass who hit him...like we didn't have enough

going

on with my health....now he is hurting so badly too.

Sorry for the venting, guys...it is just has been the worst week of my

life...so much pain...no sleep...falling from the damned pain still and now my

husband is suffering too....way too much...

I am so sorry that I haven't been online to read all the messages, guys.

Please know that you are all dear and near to my heart and that I will be back

in the swing of things as soon as I possibly can.

Mike...how is your head feeling? I am so sorry to hear about your painful

headaches, my friend. How are you doing now...I certainly hope better, as H/A

For those of you with the idiot doctors...I have been there far too many

times than I'd like to recall.....if there is no compassion....find another PM

doctor...for if they do not care about your whole entire body and mind, then

they don't have the priveledge of being called your doctor...If you need to

find one...call me on my cell...I am only taking cell phone calls from members

who are in great need right now, guys....if you are in need of finding a

dr...or having a crisis...call me @ 215 783-9066, and I will find the

appropriate

people to help you out...and look into your area for a PM dr.

feeling. So my solution to a broken system and broken communication

is to write a letter to both my pm and surgeon. I will send the pm's

letter directly to his home so that an office person cannot throw it

away. I will cc: it to the better business bureau and to the AMA.

Will it make a difference, maybe, maybe not. But if I leave both drs

without communicating their faults and abuses, I will have given them

permission to do it again.

Would it be ok if I paraphrased your letter? I just cant put it any

better.

I am so sorry that you were treated this way. You have every right to switch

doctors if and when you choose. No other doctor has the right to imply or tell

you that you can't or shouldn't.  I can't believe that the surgeon would just

drop a patient post-op. What has happened to the medical profession? Your

letters might not make a difference, but at least you spoke up for yourself. You

put yourself first which is what you must do. You will find a doctor that will

put you first. I don't mind if you paraphase my letter. Good luck. I hope you

find a new doctor quickly.

Hey Girls!

Not only will the letter make you feel better, but perhaps they will be held

accountable for their abuse of their patient and the system.

..your idea to take it further to the AMA is an excellent one. If

they are in a hospital setting..ie the office is in a medical center of a

hospital...you can also send a copy of the letter to the dean of the

hospital...or

hospital administration...for EVERYONE has a boss...I don't care who they

are....everyone has someone they have to answer to, you know?

I just had an awesome all fruit smoothy this morning. Because of the season here, some of it is frozen fruit. But not the banana and blueberry.

It was a 5 fruit frozen blend.
