Guest guest
Yes it is, look up the American Disabilities Act. I was fired for having Hepatitis C in November of 2000. I had worked at this hospital for 10 years with great evaluations. I decided to be open about my disease and that was a big mistake. The human resources department knew I was getting sicker and I got fired for things they made up or minor things my supervisor saw while she followed me around. I got an attorney and I was reinstated will my full benefits back. They also have to pay my life insurance forever. If I had it to do all over, I would not tell anyone. People are just too mean. I'd be a people person if people weren't such assholes. Good morning Hi group, thanks for the feedback on my last post, it helped calm my fears. I will just have to find out myself how my body reponds to the treatment. I am lucky in one way, I've been on unemployment since I was fired from my job for telling them I have hep c, in april. And since they were such butt holes, I intend to get every single penny that they paid into the fund as I can. I think I can collect till dec, or jan, so I have some time to rest and work on my health. I've managed to put on 15 lbs. since april. I always have been very thin, too thin, usually about 115lbs. I always got asked are you sick, you are so skinny, I swear if I had a dime for everytime some butt head said something like that. Anyways my husband makes decent enough money so he said I should take the whole year maybe a year and a half off. Well see how I feel then, so I figured I might as well just work on getting better, then I will go back to work. I've always worked so this is quite different for me thats probably why I'm rambling on, so just wanted to say thanks to you all. marsha I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users. It has removed 1666 spam emails to date.Paying users do not have this message in their emails.Try SPAMfighter for free now! Guest guest
Hey Sue! Hope your vacation was everything you thought and dreamed it would be. Things here are still very bad, I can't wait until I can say they are great...but unfortunatley, it is not yet. Lenny remains to be in severe pain. He is a bull and never complains of pain at all...he goes to work with migraines, heel spurs (he carries over 250 lbs of glass and installs glass for a living...so he is always on his feet) he never ever says he doesn't feel good...he always says he is great....but he is really suffering now..and it just is horrible to see...not to mention that I am so angry at the jackass who hit him...like we didn't have enough going on with my health....now he is hurting so badly too. Sorry for the venting, guys...it is just has been the worst week of my life...so much pain...no sleep...falling from the damned pain still and now my husband is suffering too....way too much... I am so sorry that I haven't been online to read all the messages, guys. Please know that you are all dear and near to my heart and that I will be back in the swing of things as soon as I possibly can. Mike...how is your head feeling? I am so sorry to hear about your painful headaches, my friend. How are you doing now...I certainly hope better, as H/A are the worst...they affect everything that you do. Please know you are thought of and loved a ton... For those of you with the idiot doctors...I have been there far too many times than I'd like to recall.....if there is no compassion....find another PM doctor...for if they do not care about your whole entire body and mind, then they don't have the priveledge of being called your doctor...If you need to find one...call me on my cell...I am only taking cell phone calls from members who are in great need right now, guys....if you are in need of finding a dr...or having a crisis...call me @ 215 783-9066, and I will find the appropriate people to help you out...and look into your area for a PM dr. ...best of luck, hon in getting your surgery date soon. I know that yo uhave been waiting what must seem to be an eternity...I am sorry for that, my friend. Deb....please know that you have been in my prayers with your infection...I hope you are feeling better soon....hang in! How are my two 's doing?!?! I hope you both are doing great... how is the apartment coming along, honey? R...thanks for your kind messages before..it meant alot. Sue..you probably need a vacation from your vacation, huh? Take great care! Please keep my hubbie in your thoughts and prayers...I do hate to see him suffer lie this. Today is our wedding anniversary....7 years..I am going to make him a special dinner tonight and try to take his mind off of everything...wish me luck...lol Love to you all, Gentle hugs to you all May we have pain free days and sleep filled nights, Love Kathy G. Guest guest
Sue, You said it all, thank you for saying what everyone is thinking and feeling. So my solution to a broken system and broken communication is to write a letter to both my pm and surgeon. I will send the pm's letter directly to his home so that an office person cannot throw it away. I will cc: it to the better business bureau and to the AMA. Will it make a difference, maybe, maybe not. But if I leave both drs without communicating their faults and abuses, I will have given them permission to do it again. Would it be ok if I paraphrased your letter? I just cant put it any better. Hugs, > > >  >  >  >  >  >  >  >  >  >  > Good morning all >  > I made a small dent in reading my e-mails, still have many, many more to go. lol. I'm sorry that so many of our members are having such a tough time right now. At least we have each other. >  > Kathy, I hope you and Lenny are both feeling better. > Mike, I hope your headaches are better. > To the members who are being mistreated by their doctors and staff, there is no excuse for this. I have been in this position more than once, so I know exactly how you are feeling. We have enough to deal with, we don't have to be abused by the people who are supposed to be helping us!!! I spoke up, told the doctors what I thought, and switched doctors. A doctor must put your best interest first. A doctor doesn't always know what his staff is doing, but that's no excuse for rude behavoir. A doctor doesn't always get his messages, but that's a problem that needs to be addressed. A doctor doesn't always want to answer all your questions, but you have the right to ask and have them answered. A doctor should be spending time with us, listening to us, not rushing us in and out. Once the care and compassion is gone, and the abuse has taken over, it's time to move on and find another doctor. > , I hope your surgery date is very soon. > Deb, I hope your infection is better. > Deanna, thank you for the welcome home. > My hands are really hurting so I must stop now. > I hope everyone else is doing well. Guest guest
 I am so sorry that you were treated this way. You have every right to switch doctors if and when you choose. No other doctor has the right to imply or tell you that you can't or shouldn't. I can't believe that the surgeon would just drop a patient post-op. What has happened to the medical profession? Your letters might not make a difference, but at least you spoke up for yourself. You put yourself first which is what you must do. You will find a doctor that will put you first. I don't mind if you paraphase my letter. Good luck. I hope you find a new doctor quickly.  Sue C Moderator From: shaninpain <shaninpain@...> Subject: Re: Good morning Stimulator Date: Sunday, November 16, 2008, 8:46 PM Sue, You said it all, thank you for saying what everyone is thinking and feeling. Guest guest
Hey Girls! Not only will the letter make you feel better, but perhaps they will be held accountable for their abuse of their patient and the system. ..your idea to take it further to the AMA is an excellent one. If they are in a hospital setting..ie the office is in a medical center of a hospital...you can also send a copy of the letter to the dean of the hospital...or hospital administration...for EVERYONE has a boss...I don't care who they are....everyone has someone they have to answer to, you know? Once again, Sue...you are right there taking care of our members and friends...you are an awesome moderator...and one great listener and friend. Thank you!! my love to you both, Kathy G. Guest guest
I just had an awesome all fruit smoothy this morning. Because of the season here, some of it is frozen fruit. But not the banana and blueberry. It was a 5 fruit frozen blend. k -- Re: Good Morning , this is Lea Ann's (Vitamixlady) list, so lots of good info here.
