Guest guest
Have any of you heard of the Millennium Game? It is a very ingenues idea, a stress management system in game form. I say ingenues because as soon as you start to play, you have fulfilled one of the main requirement for change. You are doing something, for until you do something, nothing can change. The Millennium Game is a self improvement game that you play privately for ten days. You are not asked to quit smoking, drinking, swearing. You are not asked to do anything that you wouldn't normally do, and you are not asked for any money for this is already yours if you should receive it. The Millennium game gives you the names of the seven negative human emotions common to us all. To play the game and win, you are asked to disallow these seven lies from entering your heart for ten days. When any of them come upon you, shuck them, knowing that if you don't, things can only get bad, maybe even worse. These seven names, can we call them troubles? For trouble is what they are! There is not one of them that will do you anything but damage, so why then would you allow them? Being mindful of this helps to become free of them. I have read more than a few times over the years, that these things are good, they are natural responses. There is no conflict of ideas here, what they say about necessary stress is correct, but not so with unnecessary stress and the more serious unnecessary distress. Norman Peale said, " There are two kinds of stress, necessary and unnecessary. " This one sentence is the cross road of stress management! There is not much we can do about what is necessary. Now when you look at the great cost to our body and our life for allowing what is unnecessary, should we not stop? The medical community has well warned us. Might we look at three of the seven troubles that are in us? They are in measure to all man, some with more Wrath, Some with more Enmity, some with more Doubt. None are better than another. Doubt that brings fear and worry. It keeps us from Faith where comes our joy and laughter. Doubt in your heart can do you only damage. It will serve to destroy your future and perhaps your health as well. Being mindful of this, do not allow it. Doubt is the " yea " of the seven things that destroy man. Enmity that brings forth hate and bitterness. It keeps us from Compassion whence love is born. Enmity in your heart can do you only destruction. It truly is a burning fire. It will serve to destroy your to morrows and perhaps your health as well. Being mindful of this, do not allow it. Wrath bringing anger and temper. It keeps us from Mercy and our receiving and showing of Mercy. Wrath in your heart can do you only harm. It will serve to destroy your future and perhaps your health as well. Being mindful of this, do not allow it. What I say about one, I say about all seven. I feel I should stop here due to the large number of people that don't know what Enmity is. " It is the spirit of an enemy. " The simple solution? " Be friendly to all! " , Make it a new rule with that receptionist behind your eyes, courtesy first! Now which would be easier? To do this, or to try and stop hate when it has already come? When a person is in hate, it should indicate to them, that the damage to their body has already been done. Hate is the condition of a body, brought about by a glandular response triggered by the allowing of Enmity in the heart. Stress implies a force. If there is no force, there can be no stress. In human stress, this force is the chemicals secreted into the blood by the glands of the body. It is corrosive to our cells, requires our life energy for repair, lowers our immunity, leaving us susceptible to disease causing bacteria, virus, and toxins. Shortens our life causing more rapid ageing. If you got tangled up in a hornets nest, and received twenty or so stings, you would expect to have a few sore days of healing. The only difference here is the wounds from the stings of stress can not be seen because they are within. but the medical community verifies where there is stress, there is wounding, and do we not all testify to the suffering. They teach hate management when they should be teaching Enmity management. Where there is no Enmity, there can be no hate. They teach anger management when they should be teaching Wrath management. Where there is no Wrath, there can be no anger. It is easier to deal with the Wrath within then with the anger that comes out. When a person is in anger, it should indicate to them, that the damage to their body has already been done. Anger is the condition of a body, brought about by a glandular response triggered by the allowing of Wrath in the heart. They teach fear management when they should be teaching Doubt management. If you have no Doubt, you can have no fear. When a person is in fear, it should indicate to them, that the damage to their body has already been done. Fear is the condition of a body, brought about by a glandular response triggered by the allowing of Doubt in the heart. Anyone that would consider playing this wonderful stress management game might like to hear what I can tell them about the rest of the seven troubles of the heart. These seven are the stressors of all unnecessary stress/distress. Patzen
