Guest guest
Dear friends, Why do need more personalized drugs? Human genome 3,000,000,000 base pairs DNA sequence of all human beings is 99.9% identical Our DNAs differ by 0.1%. Does it make a difference? Definitely….. 0.1% difference translates into 3 million separate “spelling” differences in a genome of 3 billion bases That’s why the clothes of ADNAN SAMI will not be fit to ABHISHEKH BACCHAN Hence the one fit for all concept need to be changed. This will not only help to reduce the ADRs but also decrease the exposure to unsuitable drugs. When we attended INDO FRENCH symposium on Pharmacogenomics at Kochin there was eye catching poster at the entry of the door. A pair of twins, Suffering from G6PD deficiency, Both were treated with antimalarials? But one received the drugs after being screened for G6PD deficiency genotyping. Can any one complete the story? Regards, Dr Kiran Chaudhari Lecturer, Pharmacology, GMC Nagpur. Why delete messages? Unlimited storage is just a click away.
