Guest guest
We do not fully comprehend what we can do with our emotions. When we control them we have power. When they control us the results are often disastrous. By Norman Peale. Most people have never even wondered whether there is a difference between stress and distress. Is stress merely a synonym for distress? Yet, how are we to cope with the stress of life if we can not even define it. By Dr. Hans Selye. I think we can see what the problem is: There is some kind of malfunction in man himself. There have been many attempts to diagnose what the problem is. By Hal Lindsey. Stress implies the ability of a thing to resist force and if the force exceeds the ability, proper function can not be maintained. The force is the cause of the stress and if there was no force, there would be no stress. There is only one way to relieve stress and that is to lesson or remove the force. A bridge is constructed to be able to withstand forces. If it is pushed past its stress point by weight, wind, flood waters etc. it will break and will then be in distress. L. di for dis, asunder. When we speak in terms of human stress, the word stress does not take on a different meaning. The only thing that is different is the nature of the force. The nature of the force in human stress is the chemicals that are secreted by the glands of our bodies. These chemicals are corrosive to the cells of our bodies and their repair is very costly as shown by the medical community. Some of this damage can not be avoided. It is a part of and a fact of life. Gravity is a force that causes stress to our bodies. If you have taken on a second or even a third job to make ends meet, this is a lot of stress to your body. But it is a choice you have made and must then be considered necessary stress. Norman Peale said " There are two kinds of stress, necessary and unnecessary stress. " We can't do a whole lot about what is necessary but necessary stress is not that big of a problem. The human body can tolerate a great deal of physical activity and this should actually be beneficial to us in keeping us fit and alert. The real problem is unnecessary stress, primarily because it lingers unresolved. I have in one of my many self help books, where a doctor said, " It is not the loss of a loved one or a marriage break up or the loss of a job that does the most damage, it is the day to day thing. " Yes because the day to day things like hate, worry, fear, guilt, jealousy, anger and more linger unresolved for the most part. Day after day causing the glands of our bodies to secrete chemicals into our blood making our blood toxic, supplying disease its sustenance. Lowering our immunity leaving us susceptible to disease causing bacteria, virus and toxins. Causing us to squander our genetically predetermined amount of recovery energy needed for cell repair that results in repid ageing and premature death. But there is something more here. By allowing our negative emotions to control us we are robbed of the benefits of being a balanced person. By exhibiting hate, anger, jealousy and more we bring these very things back upon ourselves from others. Would you give up these petty emotions in order to live a comfortable life having all your needs met. Well it is really that simple. You see, we do have power over our futures but first you must take control. So how do we take control. Well certainly not by controlling our hate, worry, fear, guilt, jealousy, anger and more. You see, when you are seething in hate, burning with anger, trembling from fear and more, the damage to your body is already past the point of no return. These are amongst the conditions that result from the chemicals already being in your blood. To stop the force that results in stress to your body, you must go to the root of the problem. I would like to give examples to the three mentioned above. Enmity (the spirit of an enemy) is the root of hate. If you have no Enmity you can have no hate or bitterness. Enmity is what keeps us from one of the seven spirits of God that are His eyes, Compassion. Wrath is the root of anger. If you have no Wrath you can have no anger or temper. Wrath is what keeps us from another one of the seven spirits of God that are His eyes, Mercy. Doubt is the root of fear. If you have no Doubt you can have no fear or worry. Doubt is what keeps us from another one of the seven spirits of God that are His eyes, Faith. Now I know a lot of people have turned away from religion these days and I can't say I blame them but please do not let the mistaken notions of man keep you from experiencing the absolutely astounding knowledge that is to be found in the Word of God. The Bible shows that when one is saved, what takes place within them is they are freed of their distress. The Bible also shows that our negative emotions called iniquity are seven things and they are what keep us from receiving God's gift already given, His seven spirits that are His eyes which I believe is the Holy Spirit in fulness. The Bible tells us that Jesus received in full measure and that the rest of us receive by measure. The seven spirits of God that are his eyes is this measure. The circumcision of Christ spoken of in the new testament and the circumcision of the heart spoken of in the old testament is not different. This is cutting around and away the seven things that is our iniquity. The carnal nature that is earth and fire that we are to cast behind us and by this we are born of the water and of the spirit. After the circumcision of Christ comes the baptism of Christ. This is the water that you must be born of that you may enter the Kingdom of heaven. Into the seven spirits of God that are His eyes is this baptism and is this water. 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Job 5:2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one. Job 5:19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: Proverbs|24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Proverbs|26:25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. So what should motivate anyone to turn from the seven negative emotions? Well if you allow any of the seven negative emotions to have any dealings in your day to day life you will not have life more abundant. Just when you think that things can't get any worse, they will. Cast your net to the other side. Set aside the petty things that destroy for ten days and you will see. Play the Millennium game that you will find in the " photos " section of this group, in the " Seven Troubles of the Heart " album Thank you. Brother Carl.
