Guest guest
Lucy, *hugs* hon. Sorry it's so rough for you right now. I don't know about the moral/ethical ramifications for you for using marijuana...but if it would help to ease that, there is a legal drug (Marinol) that is marijuana in pill form...same stuff, different method, totally legal. *hugs* 1 ohhhlucy wrote: > I am so frustrated with the pain and the uncomfortable feeling in my > tummy...I don't know what else to do at this point...my doc has > suggested marijuana....and coming from a home with my dad being a > minister and my granddad being chief of police...it really isn't > something that I have ever given thought to. Guest guest
My neurologist said not to worry about taking prescription pain meds, as opposed to over-the-counter. If the marijuana is legally prescribed by your doctor, then I would try it. It is just as bad, or good, as any other drug. We have just decided at this point in our society that some drugs are EVIL and some are okay. Lee son <paulsons5@...> wrote: Does anyone on the list usemedicinal marijuana? Does it really help? Love, LucyDear Lucy,Sounds like you have a great Dr, a real one, thatreally wants to help. I used to work for Hospice, and I cant tell you howmany people have told me they thought it worked like amiracle. I dont think there is anything better fornausea, and I know it helped thier pain too. And youget "the munchies". And you might even laugh a little. Please look it up, there's tons of info now. And dontbe scared, the side effects are the good parts, muchless dangerous than any rx you could get. It will make you feel better.
Guest guest
Dear Lucy, I'm sorry you are in so much pain and can't take painkillers. Also, I have been clean and sober for more than 16 years now and marijuana was always my drug of choice during my using days. It was the first thing I had to conquer and I did. However, if I thought for one minute that marijuana could alleviate my pain or prevent me from going blind I would not hesitate to use it. This is the only life I have and I am not going to let anyone deter me from making decisions regarding my well-being. Just because my body doesn't work right doesn't mean I should have any qualms about smoking pot to feel better, or even to keep from getting worse. At this point, I think I would encourage you to try it. Only you can make the final decision about it. Not your father or your grandfather. They will have prejudices against it, but you are the one with the illness. So YOU decide, not them. Good luck, fbertaud@... ohhhlucy wrote: I am so frustrated with the pain and the uncomfortable feeling in my tummy...I don't know what else to do at this point...my doc has suggested marijuana....and coming from a home with my dad being a minister and my granddad being chief of police...it really isn't something that I have ever given thought to. The only time I feel close to "okay" is when I don't eat much at all. As long as I eat only a little bit a few times a day, I can almost forget about it. I guess thats why it is a struggle for me, who struggled to keep my weight down before, to now keep some weight on. I have gone from a size 14 to a size 4. People ask me if I am going to dissapear soon! If eating food wasn't so painful and uncomfortable, I'd still be a size 14, I guess. Guest guest
That is exactly where my pain is too. Intense pain. For me it's not always after eating, sometimes I wake up with it. I have a small rubber ball that I put on the floor to lay on and match it up with the painfull spot. It seems to do something for the pressure point. And as I've told others, my pain is so fierce I take demerol for it. Sorry to hear about the frequency. How often? Guest guest
Debbi, I've tried everything for pain. Thanks for the suggestions- I have tried most of them over the years. I even tried a pretzel the other day but it didn't seem to help. I have tried getting other types of food stuck before, but I thought maybe there would be something magical about the pretzel. Thanks for checking in with me. My doc. has suggested muscle relaxers like robaxacet. They help a little, but are really pricey. I haven't tried the antidepressants. I'll bring it up with my Doc. next visit. Thanks again.
