Guest guest
Hi le, That's what the talk about castor oil is about...oil swishing. From what I've read so far, Castor oil is known as a healing oil, and is more " potent " (for lack of a better word) than other cold pressed oils. The results are 3x as quick. I have been using the peanut oil for the last couple days, but as soon as I can find it, I'm going to try the castor oil. ë Tara > What do yall use the castor oil for, oil swishing? > > le

Guest guest
Stress definitely plays a major role in the problems associated with achalasia. I always seem to have more problems when I am stressed out or overworked. Those are the times when I am more likely to choke at night, have cardio spasms, and have trouble eating. When I read (in this support group), that what little research has been done on this disease seemed to implicate the central nervous system, I immediately thought of hypnosis. The reason being that if the brain is involved, I probably needed to learn to relax. All I can say for sure is that the hypnosis has helped. I am much more aware now when I am getting uptight. . .I actually feel it when I begin to get stressed and focus on relaxing. I have only choked a couple of times in the past 2 or 3 months (since going to a hypnotherapist). --- jenny love <love@...> wrote: > It's been really interesting to read the surveys. > In mine I mentioned that I had seen a neurologist. > The reason I saw him was my doctor (GP) and I went > over possible causes as to what was happening to me > and one of the possibilities that came up was the > fact that my eldest daughter has a rare condition > called segawas dystonia. Guest guest
Hi everyone, Sorry I haven't written in so long work is sooooooooooo busy. But anway Tara is starting a new school so I will keep you guys updated. They have been sooooooooo attentive due to the fact l have a lawyer but anway, Tara is getting eval. privately here in New York and the doctor asked me a question that just through me for a loop he asked me is Tara happy? and of course I looked at him like he had twelve heads like of course she's happy. But as I was leaving the office I started to wonder is Tara happy? She laughs she and I communicate well but is she really happy in her state of mind? I was wondering if anyone felt the same? I guess I need reassurance. HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP! Tara 6 DS/Autism

At the time I wasn't sure because of the examples she gave me. But, after some time I think yes she does get excited about things and yes she is happy. I think we all want reassurance. I don't know Tara but if her Moms first reaction was yes she's happy then you shouldn't second guess yourself. I vote yes. She's happy! Guest guest
Diane, recently had something described to me as small almost blisters in his ear, which resembled " swimmer's ear " . This is usually caused by the ear tubes being exposed to water. But since Bri hasn't been allowed to swim yet, the only conclusion we could draw was that it was from showers. Now, showers don't usually cause this in most kids, but for Bri it is a problem. I now have to use ear plugs even for just a shower. I would call the ENT--maybe start drops. Combining the drops with the ear plugs finally cleared up 's problem. When the " swimmer's ear " was present, it was quite painful for him--and he usually doesn't complain about anything. It is possible, of course that he is refluxing into his ears. The drainage can also be from his sinuses. I can't remember, do they treat Kody for GERD? This has also proven to be very effective for Bri. It's hard to imagine them recovering when they seem so weak. I know I have been concerned about this several times. I think the main thing I have noticed is that after surgery, the problem is gone, so they are actually able to heal. And they feel so much better. Whatever is making him so sick should be gone or better, allowing him to heal. We all know that Kody is a strong boy--so don't forget that in your equation. He has handled this with such incredible grace and strength. You, too! Sandi--Mom to , age 9. Suspected IgA def., Tetrology of Fallot, chronic sinusitis, chronic ear infections, asthma, severe allergies, GERD. Ten surgeries, heart surgery pending. Guest guest
Diane: The only thing I can add is my doc sent me to an ENT because I had a blister on my eardrum and he didn't know what in the world to make of it. Turns out, it wasn't really a blister, the ENT said it was so much fluid built up behind the drum it just looked like that. I was in quite a lot of pain too. Just a thought --- Good luck...so sorry he's having so much pain and is so miserable right now. (mom to , age 3. Currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs)

Guest guest
Hi Diane, Basically agreeing with others...I'd calll the ENT. Wade had the " swimmer's ear " tpye of infection/irritation recently & he doesn't have tubes. It was extremely painful & they put him on Floxin drops & it cleared quickly. The other reason I urge you to call ENT is that when I used to work for an ENT surgeon in Ga., they were VERY particular about doing surgery with an active ear & /or sinus infection because of the risk of spreading it into the bloodstream. The exception to this rule was long term chronic sinus infections like what Kody has because they are usually encapsulated hence why they don't drain & are resistant to abx therapy. Anyway I think it's imortatnt for him to know that Kody may have an active ear infection going into surgery. Just my .02 cents! We are leaving on vacation tomorrow but I will keep Kody & you in my prayers next week & will try to send him a card. Please tell Batman I Love Him!! Talk to you soon.
