Guest guest
That's funny yogabud how different people are. I was soaking mixed rolled grains overnight then warming them in the morning and eating them with raw cream and a little maple syrup. I thought this was an excellent breakfast (still do) but it was making me feel like crap. So i switched to soft-boiled eggs over a rye cracker with lots of raw butter and feel wonderful! So maybe if you try my old breakfast idea you will feel good. Elaine

Guest guest
Are you eating the eggs cooked or raw? I have trouble with cooked eggs. For breakfast I often eat, a smoothie: One raw egg, some raw cream and frozen raspberries in a mini processor. sort of a soft raspberry ice cream. Otherwise I eat leftovers from dinner. Guest guest
haah Elaine thats funny. well my feeling is just that. crap about 20 mins or so after breakfast. I boil teh eggs adn have also eaten them raw ( with the yolk and the white ) I guess it could be the butter to that is the cause, but never thought of that. i always tend to feel good after dinner. Sometimes my lunch has same duldrum effect. BUt last few days not eating lamb chump chops and changing it instead ofr chicken last 2 days i havetn got the afternoon yuk feeling. If i can just avoid this in the mornings now then i will be set > That's funny yogabud how different people are. Guest guest
I don't know if we've discussed this before or not. What you are discribing is not uncommon, its usually present with certain folks on low carb diets. Essentially the protein elicits an insulin response of sorts. Realize that insulin not only moves sugar from the blood it also moves amino acids which is why insulin is present even without carb consumption. The problem is when you wake in the morning your blood sugar is already low from the nights fasting. You then consume protein which places some insulin in cirulation which results in further lowering of blood sugar, this essentially induces a hypoglycemic state which correlates with your description. The way to offset this is to eat some carbohydrate with your egg bfast preferrably some fruit (ie. berries, cherries) this will provide a small amount of sugar for the blood and in turn will not result in the hypoglycemic state and in addition the fructose will have a small inhibitory effect on the insulin response. I hope this helps. DMM > > > > That's funny yogabud how different people are. Guest guest
thanks dr mike. i will definatly try this. the carb intake has totally slipped my mind as a possible cause. if i cant get berries ( i refuse to buy from supermarket as they are like $6 for 250 grams ) but once a week i can get to the organic food fare and pick upa punnet for $3 what would be some other form of food would you suggest? for when the berries are unnatainable. i was thinking of sourdough bread but i have not amde it before and still need to collect the ingredients. ( i havent been eating bread for a good 10 months now( store bought garbage ) so not sure how i would take to it. heh > > > > > That's funny yogabud how different people are. Guest guest
Generally Frozen berries are more reasonable, even organic froze in a bit cheaper. That will be better than bread. I would look to use fruit on this one instead of grains. If the berries fresh or frozen are too expensive just use another fruit you find more affordable with the exception of bananna, date, fig. We more often than not will use frozen berries for smoothies. DMM > > > > > > That's funny yogabud how different people are.
