Guest guest
That can be handy for some people (keeping a food journal) but I think and have seen where that leads to obssesive patterns (orthorexia) and fanatic rules because the person reacts to so many foods etc.. I'm not trying to poke fun at this, I'm just throwing out a perspective. We can anyalyze every single mouthful of food but can you see where that might lead to? Fear of food, I've seen it happen to many times and once had a very sick client who was so frightened of food because she kept a diary and reacted to just about every mouthful of food, she didn't get better until she went out and ate anything and everything including all the food she reacted to. piiimaman
Guest guest
I have been reading " Brain Allergies " , by H. Philpott, M.D.. In Chaper 10, page 117-118, Dr. Philpott states that all though " carbohydrates predominate as symptom-precipating substances, the reactions are not limited to carbohydates and can be caused by any substance to which the person reacts maladaptively. " This means that people who are allergic to ANY food or chemical could also have a abnormal reaction in their insulin response. The response might be hypoglycemic or hyperglycermic. Because of this biochemical individuality (in this case allergic response) each person must have their own tailored treatment to keep their blood sugar on an even keel. I thought this information pointed out the importance of keeping a food journal, which also includes how we react to foods. The reactions he mentions are: mental, emotional, and bodily, such as vision problems, related illness like allergies, ashthma, alcohloism, infectios, etc. It is important to notice the time of symptoms, like before or after eating, etc. Most of the time we can be our own best health dectectives, but of course, sometimes we must find a competent health professional to give us a hand. Be well, Sheila
