Guest guest
The last time this came up on the list, someone said polluting the waters with heavy metals is illegal, but the laws aren't enforced. But Dr. Mercola says the mercury in fish is primarily from mercury released into the air through the burning of coal. And coal is legally burned for electricity all the time. I suppose we're all contributing to it right now on our computers. I'm starting to think we should ban all use of fossil fuels completely. Maybe make it a phase out to avoid unnecessary suffering from economic effects, but right down to zero in the forseeable future, without regard to necessary changes in life style. I think it's arrogant and selfish that we Americans especially (certainly not limited to us), even among most environmentally conscious folks, think that we should replace fossil fuels inasmuch as we can maintain our current lifestyle with alternative fuels. Well, tell the people with alzheimers, constant tremors, the kids with autism, that our cars and computers and loud music is worth their suffering and mental dysfunction. I would rather have peace and health coexist with prosperity, and I'd like to see that happen as much as possible, but I think everyone should have a universal right to not be poisoned that supercedes anyone else's right to a lavish lifestyle. Peace, Chris
