Guest guest
In message 15492 someone is offering stuff for sale. Is this acceptable on this list? While I am curious about prill water, I'm uncomfortable with people using list groups to sell their wares. Laurie

In Kat's case, she's been a very positive force on this list and she shares a tremendous amount of her personal experience to help others. So, I basically look the other way when she tells us that she's selling prill beads. I have no opinion whatsoever on the value of the beads - although I will in a few days when the ones I ordered from her arrive. As long as the prill bead selling stays low key and not pushy I won't make an issue of it. In particular, I'd expect Kat not to post about the beads unless someone specifically asks about them in which case I'd ask her to invite people to contact her offline about them, unless the question/discussion is well related to the purpose of our list. Cogswell and Radiant Life is the other example I know of about products he sells being mentioned on the list. Again, is a positive force, he's low key about it, and some of his profits are donated to the Weston A Price Foundation. Here are my guidelines for advertising on the list - just so I haven't opened the floodgates. 1. Don't even think of advertising a product if you haven't spent a good long time on this list being a positive force. 2. If you want to advertise a product run your request past me off- list first. 3. If I ok it then you get to advertise it to the list exactly once. 4. If you get questions on the list about your wares use your best judgment in taking the conversation offline or responding to the list - respond to the list if your response benefits us directly in our understanding of . The idea here is that we're a community, part of being a community is that some of us make our living in work related to the goals of the community. I think it's ok, within reason, to let people know that you have things to sell related to our goals BUT you have to spend a good amount of time being a good citizen of the community, to build credibility and to become a valued member before you earn the right to invite us to spend money with you.
