I've always wanted to make licorice at home and I finally found a recipe

recently but it called for wheat flour.. not exactly NT. So, I've tried a couple

variations.. the 1st time using arrowroot and sprouted buckwheat flour.. didn't

work very well, and then recently tried it using sprouted barley flour. At first

I thought it was a flop and out of exasperation tried dehydrating it and much to

my surprise ended up quite good. It tastes like Good 'N Plenty candies. So

here's how it went in case anyone wants to try it:

Warm 4 c. molasses, stirring over medium heat. Reduce to low heat and stir in:

1 T. ground licorice root

10 drops anise oil

4 c. sprouted,dehydrated barley flour

Stir well. Add more flour if it's still runny. Pour onto teflon dehydrator

sheets to about 1/8 " thickness. Dry at 95 F for 24 hours and then put in a cool

place. Break into pieces and store in a covered container in a cool place.
