Guest guest
Hi when i took an omega 3 supplement (this is before i learned of NT or healthy eating at all) i experienced almost complete disappearance of all premenstrual symptoms and cramps. But i suppose shark's liver oil has lots of that. Elaine
Guest guest
Hi Your mother has experienced mood swings at puberty so tell her not to worry too much. There are herbs that can help ease some of the discomfort of menopause and I would recommend a book by Susun Weed called Menopausal Years, helped me realize that I wasn't going crazy. Guest guest
Allright, some tlc and a reminder she's got nothing to be guilty about is perpetually in order ;-) Thanks, Chris In a message dated 10/22/02 9:40:46 AM Eastern Daylight Time, bilherbs@... writes: > Your mother has experienced mood swings at puberty so tell her not to worry > too much. Thanks a lot, Chris
Guest guest
This isn't nutritional advice but I used EFT to deal with really awful post partem depression. I could barely hold my baby. After four sessions my husband said that he felt like he had his wife back. This is not an EFT group so if you want more info you can email me directly and/or checkout http://www.emofree.com/default.htm . Guest guest
I don't remember omega 3 dosages. It was whatever was recommended. I started with evening primrose oil daily, but a good quality oil can be quite expensive. Then i found this weird company called Radiant Health. They sell a blend of oils and i started taking that based on my body weight. I believe it is a balance of omega 3 and 6 which is a little weird considering we get so much omega 6 already, but i definitely noticed a big difference after taking it -- my mild psoriasis got much better, greatly increased levels of energy, and the absence of hormonal swings. Obviously i was deficient. Now i don't take it as i have learned to eat better. I have read dubious things about various plant and vegetable oils on this site, so i don't know how healthy this oil is. The ingredients are unprocessed, unrefined and organic and are: safflower and sunflower oils, coconut oil, pumpkin oil, borage oil and sesame oil. Can't remember the rest. By the way, this company also promotes a high-protein, low-carb diet and organic food. I haven't ordered from them in a while but they were at radianthealth.com. Guest guest
I am sending along a quick answer as in my experience this can get complicated very quickly. I think that the NT diet is very good for this as the fatty acid profiles etc are important. I also recommend a book by Dr. Lee titled " What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About PreMenopause " . If you read the book and think about it he is saying more than once there are imbalances and how to correct it. . Too much of one thing and not enough of another. Guest guest
Ann Louise Gittleman has a really excellent book called Before the Change, all about perimenopause. It's really the book that got me started on the native nutrition path, as she is very nutritionally oriented, pro-good fats, etc. ~ Carma ~ " Real learning is a process of discovery and if we want it to happen, we must create the kind of conditions in which discoveries are made. We know what these are. They include time, leisure, freedom, and lack of pressure.
