From the Organic Valley FAQ:

" Our cows are fed a vegetarian diet (no animal by-products) that includes

pasture, hay, silage and grains like soybeans, corn and oats. "

I thought some people might be interested to know they use soybeans in the

feed.

However, I still think they are one of the best brands in the store, and I

definitely consider their cultured butter to be the second best to my

homemade raw butter.

By the way, has anyone ever had their European-Style Cultured Butter? It's

different than the regular cultured butter, and comes in a large 1-cup square

wrapped in gold foil. It is called " The Champaigne of Butter " on the

wrapper. Indeed, it is. It is the best-tasting butter I've ever had, I

think, and it's quite soft and spreadable even out of the fridge as well.

" What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a

heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and

animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of

them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense

compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to

bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature.

Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the

truth, and for those who do them wrong. "
