Guest guest
This is a great recipe for relish. And it's so easy, my daughters preschool class makes it and everybody loves it.
Guest guest
Please excuse me for not responding to all the helpful replies sent to me on this topic. My best friend has just been operated on for breast cancer and I am somewhat distracted. That does not make them any less appreciated. Thank you all. Guest guest
I make a delicious raw cranberry relish: In blender (Vita-mix or Champ), put 1 c. soaked turkish apricots with soak water, 1 bag cranberries (can be frozen), 2 sliced apples and 1/3 c. honey; blend down and add 1/2 bag more cranberries and then blend again.. ready to serve or chill for later You can vary it by adding up to 1/2 c. freshly squeezed orange juice. Guest guest
Meg, Thanks for the recipe. What are turkish apricots? I've never heard of them! Are they easy to find? Are they very different from regular apricots? (Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever bought an apricot!) Thanks, , as well. I was just thinking this afternoon that I think I'll make 2 different kinds of cranberry relish! > I make a delicious raw cranberry relish: > In blender (Vita-mix or Champ), put 1 c. soaked turkish apricots with > soak water, 1 bag cranberries (can be frozen), 2 sliced apples and 1/3 > c. honey; blend down and add 1/2 bag more cranberries and then blend > again.. ready to serve or chill for later > > You can vary it by adding up to 1/2 c. freshly squeezed orange juice. > > Meg
Guest guest
I buy turkish apricots from http://www.sunorganic.com because they're organic and sulfur-free and pretty reasonably priced. Any dried apricot would work. The dried and soaked fruit ends up giving the relish a " gelatin-like " texture, though it's still tasty if you leave it out and use more apples instead.
