Guest guest
Below is a response I received today from UPS. For the USPS, go to www.usps.com and type irradiation in the search field. You'll find their statements on the subject. One statement from a January 'Irradiation Update' of this year says " Currently, the only mail being irradiated is destined for specific government offices in ZIP Codes 202, 203, 204 and 205. USPS says irradiating all mail simply is not practicable. " I didn't see anything that stated they are doing any more than that as of today. They also have a 77 page Emergency Preparedness Plan in case someone can't get to sleep tonight. UPS This response I received from UPS today: Dear : Thank you for your inquiry. UPS does not currently have plans to irradiate packages. If we may be of assistance in the future, please let us know. Thank you for using UPS Internet Services. I, too, get a lot of products shipped to my home. The cultures I received a few months ago worked fine. I'm expecting another culture in about a week or so, but I'm sure it'll be fine. > >>>>>The purpose of irradiation is to kill bacteria, right?
